Napoli post-match thread

The team looked tired as the game went on. If we had taken our chances in the 1st half, then the game would never have been so close as it was. Any performance over their in Napoli like our 2nd half performance we will get buried by them. Still a win is a win, still need 7pts to be sure of making the knock out stages, and finishing top of the group.
+1
Fortunately, we have a very deep side. Gundogan/B. Silva/Danilo/Mangala/Foden/Aguero/etc. are all rested and should start, in upcoming games, giving a lot of yesterday's squad much needed rest.

If all the English clubs go through should be an interesting draw don't think it will matter whether you finish first or second. Cant play clubs from the same country or from the same group. Does not leave much does it!

Fair enough - but what do you mean by "desperate for Napoli to get something" and what comments lead you to believe this?
If it was fair and balanced how then do you come to the conclusion they wanted Napoli to equalize ?

For once it didn't actually sound like that to me, normally you can plainly tell that they want us to get stuffed but they were all over us in the first half with praise and Savage had his tongue up our arse all game, even going as far to keep explaining our passing it out from the back several times, unlike Glenda who keeps saying they gotta hit it long and stop messin abaht wiv it.

(as a funny end to this I just had auto correct, correct messing to messin to go with abaht wiv it lol)

You were both listening to Jonathon Pierce and Danny Higginbotham right ?

I was. And I think that Bluealf was (it seems that the English and international feeds were the same). Once again, what comments led you to believe that the announcers were "desperate" for Napoli to score?

Alf mentions Savage, who didn't commentate on my stream, which is why I asked the question, so you didn't find it odd they were moaning and groaning whenever something didn't come off for Napoli ? They seemed to concentrate more on "what Napoli had to do " in the second half which you rarely get when there's other English teams involved, they normally comment as to what the English team needs to do that they concentrate on, they seemed quite deflated and downbeat in the end that Napoli didn't come away with something, you didn't see it like that then ?

I didn't notice at all any "moaning and groaning" when things didn't come off for Napoli - they correctly pointed out the horrible first penalty and lack of quality in and around the box that led to missed scoring opportunities for Napoli - but that's hardly being "desperate" for Napoli to score. Hell, we screwed up several chances that they correctly pointed out.

If you can reference specific quotes with timeframe - you can download the game from here - http://fullmatchsports.com/manchester-city-vs-napoli-full-match-ucl-2017/ - that would help.

For me the broadcast was fair and balanced - not hoping for any particular result.

Well yes. I an being picky - but perfection is in sight!

perfection never wins medals/titles in October you sometimes need to dig in and in groups matches just get the job done and the 2nd goal was job done for me we even had aguero on the bench and at no time in the game did we need to turn to him and like i said pep held us back and we just kept the ball and did the job

man management is a key in champions league and now we have the group in our hands and only need a point from 3 games and have a home game vs feyenoord to win the group if need be so we could even play a weaken team with in the 2 games if we get a point at napoli and even losing to them would not be that bad really looking at the table

The bold is irrelevant and not what I'm talking about, it was their tone and disappointment, something you wouldn't get when other English clubs play, that's a certainty, if you don't agree then that's fine, your perception was obviously different from mine, but seriously, you don't expect me to download and "reference specific quotes with time-frame" do you ? it really isn't that important .

I agree BT do all our games like that, they will be gutted if we won the CL ahead of their 3 media darlings

If we win our group then we only want Real Madrid to win their group and Spurs to finish second. All the other English side can win their groups as that would give us a 1/6 chance of playing Bayern (who will probably finish runners up to PSG). All the rest of the runners up should not be that difficult.
