There does appear to be more light at the end of the tunnel,depending on your viewpoint of the British media,but I fear you may be right.

Why is it that when we signed two defenders and a keeper, the deals were tied up in a matter of hours. However, when we are after attacking players — Sanches, Aguero, Nasri etc — the deals take an age and we seem to be in a perpetual state of 'nearing' or 'closing in'?If I see those two phrases again, I'm going to eat my monitor.

They appear to be the medias top phrases nowadays and basically mean jack shit,we`ve nothing better else to report at the moment.

So if the context is "A.Nother player/club." It would mean a player/club whose identity is yet unknown.
