Nasri question

I would be disappointed (not heartbroken) if the deal does fall through now. We could do with another ''flair'' player in m/f, if only to take some of the load off Silva's shoulders. We can't be totally reliant on DS to pick the killer pass to unlock defences who park the bus.

We lack pace. We lack a counter attack game, especially away from home where we only won one game against the top half teams away last season (Fulham). We lack someone who can dribble and carry the ball at speed taking us from defence to attack (see his run today). We are only a David Silva suspension or injury away from being ordinary in midfield and even on his own he managed to be part of just 6 goals away from home against other top half teams last season (four of them were in one game, so take that Fulham game out and that's just 2 goals in 8 away games against top half teams).

I think if we're serious about challenging for the title and doing something, anything, in the cup competitions, we seriously need Nasri. I'd be hugely disappointed if this fell through!

I'm none too convinced that this Nasri fella actually wants to be here , and as such , no , i wouldn't be too upset if any deal any deal fell through ....... i like players who can't wait to get here , like Zabaleta !

the way he was running today against Liverpool and the touch and awareness he has, i'd get him to play one of the front wing slots.

tbh tho, if Macini wants a big man through the middle, prefer to see Aguero and Tevez (if still here*) alongside. If not the big man up front then Aguero up there with Tevez and Nasri alongside with Silva in the middle.

Unless Arsenal will sell him for about £12m I would wait until Jan & get him then for free. I think he would be a good addition but if we don't get him we still have a decent team.

He's free next summer, not in January.

We could still get him on a free in January. Wouldn't play for us until next season but still free

I don't see that many alternatives on the market. That's the only reason. Because of the position we're in (fuck it, we might as well start saying it - because of who we are) we are assured of signing top quality players as and when they are needed, so ordinarily we have no need to sweat the signing of one particular player.

But like I say, there aren't many options on the market right now and Nasri will improve us, so I'd really rather we just hurry up and get it done.

This saga has Marwood's fingerprints all over it. Seriously what is it that he brings to the table?

He brings to the table being a no mark ex footballer who became PFA Chairman, then a pundit and then a marketing manager at Nike. He brings zero experience of doing the job he does now at other big clubs in the past - to me that's like signing a centre forward to play in nets, or like bringing a physio in to be the manager.

So its not me that thinks he is simply Cooks mate. I'm really beginning to wonder if to get to the next level that changes need to happen of the pitch as well. Bringing in the fella from Blackburn to handle contracts also fills me with dread. I would have thought that some linguistic skills would help and a background which involves dealing with the worlds elite, not selling trainers, or signing players on loan.

That Williams guy is a bit funny to me.
He did a great job for us.

He sold Boateng with minimal profit.
He found a team for Jo who pays nothing to us.
He couldnt find a buyer for Ade, Bellamy, RSC, Bridge the so called deadwood.
I don't know where we would be without John Williams. :)
