I already read Bluemoon but rarely comment - MCFC fan from Texas. Does anyone think that the Nasri video can lead to potential terming his contract? It's obvious that he didn't do anything illegal in the video (dancing and acting silly is still legal). However, his entourage in the video is questionable at best. Do we test players for drug use? If a player tests positive, can that lead to contract termination? Sorry for the silly questions. We also have to question the timing of the video release? Why now?
When that video with Sterling was released by The Sun, many City fans jumped on his back questioning his commitment and attitude without establishing the facts. Then it came out that it was made two years ago and he was showing some mates round the house he'd bought for his mum. So the implication he was laughing off England's failure at the Euro's and was just interested in showing off his wealth was seen to be completely false. You'd have thought that people might have learned a lesson from that yet, once again, many are sticking the knife in without knowing the facts, because it's a handy stick to beat him with.
Do we know for sure that he even knew those clips of him had been used in that video?
Do we know who released it and why? There have been some interesting timings of dodgy videos in the past because of certain agendas.
If he was aware of the full video then that possibly renders his judgement questionable but he hasn't actually done anything wrong.
If he has a dickhead for a mate, that's not a criminal offence and there are plenty of footballers who have questionable private lives. If that private life is affecting his work, then the club should certainly deal with it. But if it isn't and it doesn't affect the club in any other way then it's up to him and him alone.
I think back and remember that he was one of the footballers involved in the infamous 'quenelle' incident, where he was photographed making an allegedly anti-semitic gesture outside the club shop. We had every right to fuck him off then but he made an apology and was rewarded with a new contract shortly after. Football has a habit of looking the other way when some very questionable behaviour is involved. Giggs, Joey Barton, the horrible rat-faced racist that is Jamie Vardy, drunk driver Ray Wilkins, Stan Collymore, etc, etc. Even players caught using drugs have seen their drug use brushed under the carpet with secret bans handed out and called "long term injuries".
Maybe the club will want him to explain what's happened or maybe they don't care as he's seemingly going anyway. But to equate this video with him have a drug or attitude problem is simply silly without being in possession of the facts and I still maintain it's a disgrace for City fans to be re-tweeting this and claiming it's a problem. It's the sort of shit that The Sun does.
