That just reads like former Barcelona players will always leave for Barcelona. And makes you and your club look arrogant in the extreme.

Arrogant? Comical but not surprised that this aspect of my club is difficult for many to comprehend. Makes you sound bitter

Looking at it objectively from a financial and footballing point of view ignoring personal preferences for location or football club in terms of history city are a better option and getting a better option relative to Barcelona more and more over time. We are generally improving each year in terms of squad scouting academy back office staff, rumours of big changes this year new sister clubs etc etc

Yet case in point, Pep himself sees himself eventually returning to Barca to coach youth players. Blaugrana, through & through

Look at it objectively, which is what I said and I am sure he will do that too much depends on it for him to do otherwise. Our academy looks to be a better facility than yours not yet producing to the level you have but a lot of that was one group in the recent past. English football in general is in very good shape from a youth point of view. We look to be doing relatively well on this front either with our own players or those poached from others e.g Garcia. Look at transfer and rumours we will also have plenty of young players coming in at youth level at squad level and at senior first team level.

We are much more stable sustainable and well organised at board and management level.

We do not have your debt

We do not have a squad with as many old players or as many players on as higher wages.

You do not have the support of a wider group like CFG or the sister clubs

That probably means we now have a larger scouting network

So who is the comical one

What am I bitter about ? I could understand you saying that years ago but not now

You said to another poster hard to see why Eric would want to stay tell me why would he want to leave ? Why would he want to go to Barca from a footballing point of view other than the fact its Barcelona and he is Spanish and from the youth ? Also Barcelona is nicer than Manchester or maybe money but even thats in doubt or should be with all your debt.

He will get more game time here than at Barcelona

How many players play for the club they grow up supporting or in the academy of the club they started at ? Look at what players say about the clubs they spent a long periods of time at even if they did not support them as kid Look what our former players say about us these days e.g. Micah Richard kompany etc He can be here for ages. When did he leave you guys ? How long would be here even if he only stayed a year or till pep leaves about to sign a new deal. What percentage of his career would that be ? what percentage of his life would that be

You do sound bitter if you can claim I am being arrogant that Catalan cantera kids would seek an eventual return to the club of their dreams. Pique left, came back. Cesc left, came back. Tello was kicked out, came back. Alba kicked out, came back. No chance that the most ideal academy constructed in Manchester could ever hold significance over a Catalan kid coming through La Masia. Even Pep has alluded to it in interviews many times over, City will have to take a long time to develop a culture that sustains itself - Barca have La Masia for more than 4 decades

What you describe as mitigating factors are temporal fluctuations, what is permanent is precisely the culture, history & local significance. You could build a utopia elsewhere but for a local Catalan kid Barca represents a unique dream. Then think of the South American influence at Barcelona, they will always be linked to the region due to language, climate and history. Even for the most blaugrana player ever in Pep, he too will make the pilgrimmage back so yeah absolutely comical

Forget past quotes from pep mate, the moment he had a pop at Barcelona about going to uefa his time with you is done!

It seems pretty obvious that kids would want to return home/to their parents at some points in their lives.

is it a special trait found only in Catalonia though? (respective to football)

what is it called when non Catalan cantera kids are seeking an eventual return to the (respective)club of their dreams?

A post that contains....

"club of their dreams"

"No chance that the most ideal academy constructed in Manchester could ever hold significance over a Catalan kid coming through La Masia."

"What you describe as mitigating factors are temporal fluctuations, what is permanent is precisely the culture, history & local significance."

"You could build a utopia elsewhere but for a local Catalan kid Barca represents a unique dream."

"Pep, he too will make the pilgrimmage back"

Is deserving of sarcastic derision.

You think we've not heard this field of dreams garbage before?

You might be right, Garcia might well do the things you say he will for the reasons you state. But spare us the mystical, home is where the heart is, destiny, istory, authentic lineage, yearning for identity and fulfillment in the land of his fathers quasi religious bullshit.

Go annoy someone else with your cultish gobbledygook.
