Why?Still a shit rule though

So Doyle goes to barca stays there 6 years and he’s home grown etc bullshit, I guarantee if he’d of gone to the dippers or rags you’d of all been saying he’s not home grown etc football rules are wank at the best of times. As the rules stand he is I understand that but it’s bull shit
Hey bud think you might be overthinking this one
Well unless you think City can produce a 25-strong squad of English players good enough to compete at the top level we'll have to make do with your "bullshit" rules. The rule doesn't say these players are English, just that they've been developed as youngsters for a long period at an English club.So Doyle goes to barca stays there 6 years and he’s home grown etc bullshit, I guarantee if he’d of gone to the dippers or rags you’d of all been saying he’s not home grown etc football rules are wank at the best of times. I thought the idea of the rule was to encourage clubs to develop youth players? Seems to be doing the job..
