Nathan Ake

Just asking it's Ewan Murray with piece in Guardian : has anyone Among those reliable has reporter this? Like Blackburn or Lee?

Good signing. He'd work well if we played on the left side of a back 3. I'm wondering if Pep would play Laporte on the right and Ake on the left of a back 4 in some games. Not ideal, but Lapote is one of the best with his feet so would be the same playing a right footer on the left.

Means that we can sell Zinchenko and Angelino for about 25-30 mill combined and almost cover the cost and have a better player than both and hopefully someone who can challenge Mendy (as he needs it) as well as cover Laporte.

The more you think about it the better this deal becomes.

People are also forgetting we also have Ferna for one more year who covers a variety of positions and while not ideal he could be used in rotation if needed.

Zinchenko and angelino are worth 25,30m each, respectively, easily. Young, versatile, on long term contracts.

Liked him for a long time. Think hes a brilliant defender that will only improve with better players around him.

Great player
Counts as HG
Can actually defend
Will fit the wage structure
£35 million quid

He'll automatically be our second best CB behind Laporte. Excited to see him in a blue shirt.

2 things.

1) he might be under 6ft but he's great in the air.

2) you cannot underestimate how useful having a genuinely rapid CB is to a team that plays a high line.

Wins 50% of his headers. Otamendi same height wins 65%

Is good on the ball and rapid though(something we lack at cb) so wouldn't be the cb attacking headers anyway

Wouldn't say he's better his club just been relegated ffs and Stones is at 1 of the best clubs in the world. Also 10 months difference in age. Ake also currently out injured lol
Switch Ake with Stones this year and Bournemouth aren't getting relegated? Right, they still would be. Who cares? Also he's missed six games in the last five years.

Do you think he is rapid? Not saying he isn’t but always just thought of his as being reasonably quick. I know he’s quicker than our other centre backs.
