Also cucurella has played cb for Brighton. In a three though, I'm not going to pretend to know loads about him. Just that he always looked defensively sound when I saw him for Brighton, and his all-round game stood out. So could fill in at cb for us.

We don't need 4 CB's, we don't need Sterling replacement, we don't need a solid depth, because we have zero injury-prone players and the season is going to end in September. Laporte is not coming from injury and Stones is not injury-prone.
Very short memory that we have used Fernandinho as our CB in the end of the season because of the lack of options. Amazing defending against West Ham. Let's replicate this again and again ;)

They'll replace him, CBs are all over the market right now.
Short memory, half options. Laporte has played with injury at the end of the season, Stones is injury prone, and zero of these half options are strong options. We are risking in the same way as in 19/20 and we have known what has happened. But yeah, we have signed Haaland, so right now we could sell 75% of our squad.

No point keeping an unhappy player I suppose. Still, very disappointing.
I don't think he was unhappy at all.
He infact gave an interview recently stating he wants to do very well for us for next season.
It seems, Chelsea would be giving him game time assurances + he is an academy graduate from there.
Hope he stays, otherwise we get the fair asking price as not wasy getting a decent quality CB who will akso be happy to be 4th choice

Wouldn’t be too gutted if he left. One two conditions we get a lot more than the £40m Chelski are looking to bid and we have a decent enough replacement waiting in the wings. Who, at this moment I haven’t a clue. Especially coming into replace either of the current 3. HG status is not too much of an issue with Phillips replacing Dinho although losing Sterling. Sorry all I’m having an argument with myself…

Not that bothered if he leaves or not. He’ll never be a first team regular. Maybe a youth player will get a chance?
The club think Ake hasn't played a big part in us winning the league, and didn't have any reason for paying 40m for him? Sure they do.

No chance Pep puts any of our kids in the firing line, they will be back up at best, all these players will be replaced by top class replacements.
