National Service Bill 2013-14

If you leave school and don't go onto further education a job or an apprenticeship with a year i'd say a year of this is a good idea.

If you can't manage to do any of the above in a year then chances are you're not up to much so a years old school national service is just what they need. A wage, an education, a roof over their head, 3 meals a day and most likely some life changing life experience.

Times have changed from when we had it last time. There is no way i want some dis-functional scroat who could not care less for authority at School come and work with me in the forces. We will have to build a bigger DQ' in Colchester

The krays did national service. Ive drunk with a few lads old enough to do it last time and the one thing they learnt was how to skive. The forces didnt want them last time and doubt if they would this time.

As I tried explaining in the previous thread about this, this idea, as shit as it is, is a national citizens service and has very little in common with what we associate with military national service.

There is an option for some people's service to be incorporated within the armed forces but for the vast majority it will just be a years minimum wage working within their community.

From what I understand of it, a clearer title would be, national compulsory community service for non criminals.

And as you can tell from my post i am one still in who does not want them. Another note is we could not accommodate them. For certain trades/jobs in the RN we have a waiting list up-to 3 years with others completely closed for new recruits

He can kiss my arse, I don't view my future as working on minimum wage once I've qualified from university. My future of agencies, creatives, meetings and late night creative meetings crammed around boxes of pizza and lager cans sounds much more exciting.

Besides, he's pale, has a round face and a comb over. Looks like he takes it up the arse, no wonder he wants more lads to sign up.

Am I right in thinking that we've recently cut down on the amount of lads and lasses who willingly want to fight for our country and do us proud? Why the fuck do we want to hire those untrained and unwilling to do this?!
