Nations League Good or Bad ?

Fine so far as that goes. And then you add backdoor qualification to the Euros into it.

UEFA could have simplified that by allowing the four best placed teams that haven't already qualified for Euro 2020 to progress directly to the tournament, rather than having a play-off place available for every group.

However it makes it easier for one of the best placed teams in the D Groups to qualify, as they'll play-off against other best placed D Group teams for one of the four Euro 2020 places available, rather than one of the top teams they would have faced under the previous system, assuming they even made the play-offs.

I don't understand why people find the format confusing.

The four top teams in Group A play each other in the semi-finals, the bottom team gets relegated, middle team stays put.

In Group B downwards, the top team gets promoted, bottom team gets relegated, middle team stays put when the draw is made for the next Nations League competition.

It's like league football with play-offs in the top division to decide the winner.

Ha. You’ve just illustrated perfectly why people find it confusing.
