Nearest football team to where you were born - do you have a soft spot for them

Born Altrincham (Bowdon hospital) & I’ve had a soft spot for the Robins & still always look for the results. Tbf I look for the results of most NW semi pro teams as I always like to see the local teams surviving. Well apart from the obvious FC turncoat.

Maine Road was the nearest stadium to where I was born, so yes!

But I moved at a very young age before I even knew anything about football and the closest teams I grew up around were QPR and then Brentford but don’t really have much feeling towards either. I guess I’d have ended up supporting some London club or other though if it wasn’t for family City ties.

Was born in Wakefield which would make the nearest team Leeds :)

but my mother (god rest her soul) told me I was born at a place called Walton Hall which is now a hotel but used to be a maternity hospital which would make the nearest team Barnsley, who (despite them hating us) do have a soft spot for.

you learn something new every day. I could’ve sworn there used to be a Wakefield team or team called Emley or something, so I googled it and found out they no longer exist since 2014

Oh well, at least they still have The Cribs, the finest British band in the last couple of decades

I was born in Stretford a long time ago I was born a life long blue .

I believe I was born in Dulwich Hospital which looks to be half way between Millwall (the New Den) and Crystal Palace. Can't be doing with either of them but does solve the mystery of why I had a Palace shirt after I'd moved to Manchester. I'd never given it much thought before.

Strictly speaking Dulwich Hamlet would have been my local team but, well, you know...
Gorton quite like City:-) Have a soft spot for Sheffield Wednesday.
