Nearest football team to where you were born - do you have a soft spot for them

I believe I was born in Dulwich Hospital which looks to be half way between Millwall (the New Den) and Crystal Palace. Can't be doing with either of them but does solve the mystery of why I had a Palace shirt after I'd moved to Manchester. I'd never given it much thought before.

Strictly speaking Dulwich Hamlet would have been my local team but, well, you know...
My birthplace also locates me fairly equidistant between those two clubs. For my sins, I was born in the South London Hospital for Women and Children (now a Tesco store I believe). Likewise, I can't help feeling it's a choice akin to being asked whether you'd prefer being punched in the face or kicked in the bollocks.

According to Google maps Maine Road and Boundary Park are the same distance from Crumpsall hospital. 4.1 miles
Same for me re Crumpsall. Lived in Oldham for 15 years - absolutely hate the twats after we went down the divisions and they ended up in the top division for a while.
Salford City would be the closest club nowadays. No affinity to them whatsoever, even ignoring Crass of '92 involvement.

Stockport County, hate them with a passion, never for get the hatred from their fans during the Swales years, despite the fact we as a club bailed and helped them out for years.

you learn something new every day. I could’ve sworn there used to be a Wakefield team or team called Emley or something, so I googled it and found out they no longer exist since 2014

Oh well, at least they still have The Cribs, the finest British band in the last couple of decades

Just had a look on Wikipedia and the original Emley team (who lost 2-1 to West Ham FAC 3rd Rnd 97-98) moved to Wakefield in 2000 and became Wakefield & Emley, then Wakefield. In 2005 they split and an new team was formed Emley AFC and moved back to the village.

The original Emley (who became Wakefield) is the team that folded in 2014
