Needless stupid bookings.

I thought removing the shirt completely warranted the yellow card, like how Balotelli did at the Euros..
When did just lifting the shirt become a yellow card offence? Cos, I have seen a number of instances when such actions were ignored by the referee..

Anyway, I think Mancini will put a stop to this hereafter, though I don't see anything wrong with such displays, as long as it is not some sort of ambush marketing...

I dont see anything wrong with it at all apart from the fact that as it stands with these these ridiculous rules we are picking up needless bookings.

Tevez wasn't booked just Nasri. You can lift up your shirt to show a message like tevez did today and in the community shield but can't take it off ala Nasri/Aguero at QPR/Why always me etc.

If theyre going to show a message then they need to keep the shirt on to avoid the booking. If they do I have no problems with it unless of course it's offensive or something.

FFs..... just imagine the changing room before the kick off, what are you going to flash today?
Instead of concentrating on the game they are on their own personal high.

Surprised Vinny is allowing this shit.

Why was Tevez booked then. I must have missed it mate.

Tévez didn't receive a booking. You only get booked if you put your shirt over your head.

One of the weirdest rules in the game.

Yep just checked you are right. However, still a stupid rule and whilst it stands they should stop doing it IMO.

Nasri's message was actually really meaningful for a lot of people all over the world. Eid Mubarak was a message to any muslims who are today celebrating the end of their fasting period. It made a lot of people happy, and was by no means about himself.

Also, he rarely gets yellow cards, so he will be fine as far as any suspensions go.

He can say happy muslim christmas in his post match interview.

Are you really saying that it is acceptable, as the rules stand, to be lifting their shirts with messages and getting bookings. We are playing football ffs its not moonpig.com.

Happy Muslim Christmas? Just because a holiday isn't important to you doesn't change that it is hugely important to millions of others. I hardly think you're distaste for his gesture exceeds the happiness it brought to all the muslims who witnessed it.

I think revealing it after scoring a goal in the game means a little bit more to all it was addressed to don't you think? You're getting mad over something completely stupid. If he did it every time he scored it would be a problem, but it was one time and it was a very positive message.

He was motm by a mile, so I'm not about to complain that he picked up a yellow card especially considering how little often he ever does. Obviously it's not acceptable, and the punishment is a yellow card. If Mancini decides that his yellow card was detrimental to the team then he will proceed with his own due punishment, but I'm pretty sure he's not gonna care too much. And neither should you.
