Negativity

Not sure too many glory hunting plastic fans would be commenting on a forum about a pre season friendly v rangers that isnt on tv - there are just many city fans out there who are all too quick to slag off our players. Always been the case IMO

While I can agree that people write stupid things, and get to agitated by little things, why is it that for city ONLY improving fitness counts? The other teams we are playing plays better, and beat us? Why does not fitness count for them ONLY for us? Fucking Joke. What has been shown in these friendlies has BEEN DIRE, and if we're not allowed to be abit concerned I don't what what to tell you.

We beat AC Milan in a friendly last year and not so long ago we beat Barcelona. Does this mean that, at the time, we were better than those two clubs?

Anything that happens in pre-season should be taken with the smallest pinch of salt. It means fuck all in the grand scheme of things, so chill out.

Hardly the same(you would have to look at the whole preseason not only one match), we have lost 3matches, and won one, barely and city have been poor, incredible poor. That is just very concerning. I don't put alot into these friendlies, seriously I don't, but a win, or some sort of good match I expect, but we hardly have got one. Im just saying that is a reason to be concerned, im not saying we will suck and our buys have been bad etc. It's just justifies being abit negative and concerned, without getting abused like we do when we express our opinions and concerns.

Cant believe we havent won every friendly by at least 10 goals after all the money we have spent. Dont forget we are going to win the Premiership, FA Cup, League Cup and Fair play league. Amazing all these Galacticos have come in and havent jelled instantly, the end is nigh I tell you the end is nigh !!!! ;)

He he good one ;)

Stuart Brennan calls Rangers' win "flattering" on the MEN match report. If I was concerned about the results of pre-season friendlies, I would take it from that that it was not all that bad. But I'm not. Chill out, I'm sure we'll be fine

agreed we should see if we can get them all freelance work for sky sports they would all fit right in there, don't know what half of them watch we had a good game before all the subs mixed it up to much but thats what pre season is for, see the topic heading and swarm on it like moths with semi's on time to calm down and stop moaning you old women.

It is going to be a long hard season on here with some people. Todays game is all about getting ready for Blackburn Saturday week. Some players still need time to gel into the set up. During that game Toure even played defensive midfield it is in these type of games we try different things when it means nothing. Looking at were we are were we have to be we still have a lot of improvement to come. Rangers was a great test for a pre season game as will Celtic be.

From what I seen of the game there were some good high points. I thought Weiss when he came on done well in the time given to him. Adeybayor and Robbie linked up well enough during the game. The midfield 3 of Barry , Ireland and De Jong look like the way to go for the start of the season in the midfield. Also Richards looks like he is starting to get back to some sort of form.

I agree!! We have a new team who apparently need time to gel, so when do we start this gelling process; at Blackburn? To all those fans who are calling those of us who are concerned about how this pre-season is shaping up 'Doom Mongerers', I have been patient all pre-season and with only one pre-season match left, I've got every right to be fucking worried!!

OK, I want Hughes to succeed, but I'm finding it a bit difficult to work out why we are wasting the golden opportunity of pre-season friendlies fucking about with players who hardly played last season and are hardly likely to play this season (or I hope they don't play this season)! We should do what Chelsea, The Scum and the Bin Dippers do and send a Manchester City XI consisting of those who maybe in the shop window to Scunthorpe or somewhere similar and let them get their 'fitness' there!

If we had our likely, or as near as damn it starting XI for Blackburn playing tonight, at least I could see some logic in our pre-season tactics, but please someone tell me apart from fitness what else did we achieve tonight apart from proving yet again that Dunne, Richards and Etuhu aren't playing well enough for what we want to achieve? I agree TBH should also leave, but fair play to him I thought he played as well as any of our defenders tonight, but I think that shows how bad our defence was, more than how good TBH is!

I have accepted our short-comings for over 30 years, but for this coming season, my optimism has been raised slightly, but after what I've kept seeing throughout this pre-season, my fear is that it is all going to go horribly wrong.

I'm not a harbinger of doom, I'm a realist and after years of supporting my team come rain, wind, snow or shine I've got every reason to be worried after being beaten by a team who were battered last weekend by an under-strength Arsenal side, who apparently are the team we hope to surplant in the top four this season!!!!

The sooner the real action gets under way the better. All the transfer rumours, bad press and poor friendly performances are getting me down. People can and will sigh negativity after the first 4 or 5 games of the season, when we talk and people write about important stuff!
