Negredo Injury

Shit news this, because it leaves us almost totally reliant on Dzeko staying fit for the next 3 months. Aguero is a muscle strain waiting to happen, and Jovetic is in no way shape or form a centre forward. Cheeky bid for Loic Remy before the dippers filch him perhaps?

I think we will now be fine.

We will prob play 4-5-1 anyway with Yaya just behind.

To start the season id play:

Hart

Sagna
Mangala
Kompany
Kolarov

Fernando
Fernandinho
Nasri
Silva
Yaya

Aguero

Im gutted. What does Pellegrini do now?...buy another striker? ..loan a striker?...Does he loan or sell Guidetti or keep him till january? Maybe he might bring Hiwula in from the EDS, seems to bagging goals for fun. Thoughts please as Jovetic and Aguero are injury prone and we cant take the risk can we.

What is wrong with you people? Negredo will miss 4-5 games and you want to buy another striker? And what then? 5 strikers? Think before you press a button in your keyboard...

For me it's not so much how long he's out for, but how long he'll need to get match fit again. Baring in mind after his injury at West Ham last season he didn't look the same player for the rest of the season and that was a shoulder injury, whereas this is a foot injury.

Still there's no need to go panicking into the transfer market. The smart move would be for Pellegrini to start the season playing one up top until Alf is fit.

Some interesting recovery time facts contained in this old BBC story...

Michael Owen (2006): Fifth metatarsal - predicted 6-8 weeks returned 17 weeks later
Wayne Rooney (2004): Fifth metatarsal - predicted 8 weeks returned 14 weeks later
David Beckham (2002): Second metatarsal - predicted 6 weeks returned 7 weeks later
Gary Neville (2002): Fifth metatarsal - predicted 6-8 weeks returned 21 weeks later

Apparently Negredo has fractured the fifth.
