I think this was definitely a good deal we made. He played for us and helped us win the league and we sold him for a good price when his form began to decline. If he stayed and put in the same poor performances that he was since Jan last year then people here would have said we should have sold him. Like some say about Yaya right now.

People who say we miss him should check out Valencia... he's been a flop and they're considering selling him as soon as they pay us what they owe us (which they have tried to weasel out of but can't). He's played over 22' in only 1 of Valencia's last 9 games. Making a profit on a near 30-year-old off his greatest purple patch (which will not be repeated based on evidence since) is one of City's best ever sales especially when you consider he literally (yes, literally) begged City to let him go because he was so unhappy, which he admitted himself. Had we kept him, the likelihood is we'd have the Negredo of the second half of last season, not the phenomenon of the first six months.

Of course... everything that doesn't happen is a guess, but there is strong evidence to suggest he wouldn't be the same player because:

1. Rubbish in the second half of the season for us.
2. Rubbish since he came back from injury for Valencia.

5 goals in 28 appearances (14 starts) for him in Spain. He had a horrible miss against Real Madrid at weekend too that pissed off Valencia fans even more. And yes, the reports say they're so disappointed by him they are seriously considering selling him for a loss once they pay the obligatory fee to us this summer. Some talk of AC Milan trying to get him cheap, backed by Doyen. Valencia have a young striker called Paco Alcacer who outperforms Negredo. Bony is a better player than Negredo in 2015, just hasn't had much chance to show it because of injuries and less 4-4-2.

The timing was not ideal but I don't know if we even had other clubs interested for him at the end of season.

His form was so poor not having a league goal since January. I think we just accepted a good offer that came for him.

Looks like there was a lot of assuming on the clubs part that at least 2 of Kun, Dzeko and Jov would stay fit for the season at a time. We then went for the positions that we definitely needed, a CDM and a central defender.

And on Bony, I think he might be seen as a longer term prospect. He was bought with clear knowledge that he'd be at ACON.

A) why keep him, he was effectively deadwood after his injury and "external matters"
B) we received an offer which recouped our losses so we sold him. When our other forwards went absent, we had a very productive run.

At my last time of looking, Pellers hasn't lost his job

imo he was worth keeping on, we owed him an opportunity to work through his bad run of form, which was clearly linked to the disruption caused by his injury and an extended period out of the team

if in fact you decide to sell, at least get a capable replacement, immediately, to ensure the manager is not left with a weaker hand in attempting to deliver the title once more and make progress in the champions league..

It was a mistake not replacing him when we sold him, it definitely wasn't a mistake selling him for a profit, this season has justified that.
