Negredo

I think he needs to just have 1 goal going for him and he will be firing. Needs to get back with the Aguero and Negredo partnership again. He offers so much more than Dzeko does. It just seems when he starts now its like he is waiting for his number to go up to be taken off. His confidence is gone a bit. But like before when we went to Bayern and got the win if we win at Barca and take condfidence from that game it will and might see us going on another strong run. Negredo , Dzeko , Kun and Jovetic will be needed big time. Were too open in defence all season so if were not scoring we can be beaten so the pressure is always on these strikers.

He offers so much more than Dzeko does.

dont blame any of our strikers tbh, we have not been creating fuk all chances for them

Apart from the 2 Dzeko had handed to him on a silver platter yesterday and the one against Stoke that a 4 year old could have scored.
And was it Dzeko's miskick in the last minute of Chelsea which would have been a bloody good chance.

That time was Nastasic.

He's off the boil but he's also used to having a nice little break over Christmas not having more games thrown at him, i'm sure he'll be back to his goal scoring ways soon (tomorrow hopefully) he just needs that first one to boost his confidence again

Wow, it appears strikers arent allowed goal droughts anymore, have some perspective people!!

Negredo is 7 without a game - Suarez was 6 games without a goal and got one on his 7th, it happens.

Ok so Negredo is looking a bit deflated and drifting a bit but crikey, all players ebb and flow.

He'll be back folks. You can't maintain top form when you're not playing and dealing with injuries. Even Messi had a dip in form after he was out not playing. Beast will be back, I know it.

Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo has been voted 'signing of the season'

Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo has been voted the signing of the season so far by Barclays Premier League managers.

The Spain international, who has scored 23 goals in all competitions since moving from Sevilla last summer, was voted the division's best signing of 2013-14 by 59% of top-flight bosses.

All 20 Premier League managers voted as part of a survey by the Barclays 'Thank you' campaign, with Liverpool striker Luis Suarez chosen as the player of the season so far and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey thought of as the best youngster.

The managers also recognised the achievements of three of their peers, with Crystal Palace's Tony Pulis, Manchester City's Manuel Pellegrini and Southampton's Mauricio Pochettino chosen for having done the most impressive work this season.

Pulis has guided struggling Palace out of the bottom three since taking over in November, while Pellegrini has made Manchester City the Sky Bet favourites for the title and Pochettino has made the Saints outsiders for a Europa League place.

Managers were also asked which Premier League stadium had the best atmosphere, with 40 choosing Anfield over the likes of Old Trafford, White Hart Lane or the Emirates.

Manchester United fans are considered to give the best away support, followed by Liverpool and Aston Villa, and England in general is considered by 41% of managers to have the most avid supporters in the world.

The study also found that 80% of managers attended their first ever game as a fan before the age of nine, with over half of them going to a match before they were five, suggesting that watching football from a young age leads to a greater understanding of the game.

Hopefully he'll discover his early season form sooner rather than later, because with Kun injured, we seriously need him back to full form....

A brilliant signing and a brilliant player.

He'll be back to himself in the next 2/3 games. Looked shot after his shoulder injury and I think played through the pain as we needed him to due to being short on strikers, I also think the amount of games took their toll on him as he's a big fella and was throwing himself all over the pitch. 1 is all it takes and I'd still not bet against him to hit 30 this year. The Beast will be back.

Fuck me the guy was out for a few weeks with a shoulder injury and clearly hasn't been fully fit

If Aguero or Jovetic had been fit in the last month id hazard a guess as to whether Negredo would have even been in our squad

He's pretty much had a two week break now so I expect him to be raring to go tomorrow if selected

Embarrassing to see people say 'hes not up to it at the moment', hes not been fit for nearly 2 months

Some very short memories in our fanbase at times

Not sure if it's a question of short memories or just plain stupidity.

I'm sure it's the same for most clubs but we have a fair amount of doylems in our fanbase. You only need to read a match thread.

I mean for the love of god we had a thread recently advocating we sell Aguero.

We're all just lucky these idiots have no influence over decision making at the club.

I know its pretty cringeworthy, it looks like we've attracted one or two morons recently

One minute Dzeko is garbage, next minute he's the only man we can turn to apparently

No doubt if Negredo does start tomorrow and grab a couple of goals the same people will be back fawning over him
