Negredo

negredo has been brillliant this season , i think a couple of goals will get his confidence and form back , unfortunatley when he starts with dzeko , he knows he isnt going to get a pass , dzeko will shoot from anywhere and is basically selfish , (not a bad trait in a top striker , if he hits the target , problem with dzeko he scores one in ten) . If we can start jovetic alongside negredo against saints , i think jovetics creativity could supply a few chances to negredo.

Negredo needs a striker partner. I'm not convinced that Dzeko and Negredo can work together. Aguero and Jovetic have been injured.

What on earth has happened to him? Since that West Ham game, he has been a shadow of his former self. It's incredibly frustrating because we all know how good he can be.

He was always a flat track bully.

Without Aguero to hold his hand he's useless.

Against Balckburn hes put through one on one and dinks it over the keeper to score, same today but he tamely knocks it low and right at the keeper.

Low on confidence. Good to the fans giving him support though.

Confidence. Nothing more, nothing less, I reckon. Had he had the (first) chance he had today earlier in the season, he'd have taken one touch and hit it, or even hit it first time as it dropped - without even thinking about it.
Stating the obvious, but he needs a goal, and soon.

Was nice to hear the Beast chants right after that chance

Definitely. We all know what he is capable of and he has played a huge role this season.

A shadow of the player he was last autumn. Shame. Hopefully he'll get back to form next weekend!

Surely we're not going to risk him?

Right now he's a liability.
liability my arse, some very good touches and link up play and kept things ticking along nicely, big deal he missed a chance all strikers do it

I was thinking of him coming off the bench for Kun late on. No way would he be in the starting XI on current form; probably Kun as a lone striker, seeing as we ''only'' (!) need a draw.

Unfortunately he's a luxury player- a few good touches and keeping things 'ticking along' won't cut it.

Dzeko has to start and Garcia has to be in midfield, which leaves no room for Nasri (slightly off form) let alone Negredo.

Everyone keeps mentioning the West Ham pretty sure Pelligrini said it was nothing serious and just a knock.

Correct.

Dzeko missed some good chances today and almost fluffed his goal. Negredo got in a couple of good positions and was a bit unlucky.

Both are good players and neither of them is a liability. Having said that Pellegrini isn't going to start with 2 up front against Liverpool. Personally I'd prefer to start with a more mobile striker than Edin against Liverpool but unless Aguero is fully fit, I suspect Pellegrini will go with Dzeko.

He's fucking class and will get over this dip in form. Nice to hear the support from the fans after his one on one was saved and he looked gutted.

For a while now he's been half his usual self - low on confidence, poor decision making (something that cannot be attibuted to injury), and lacking sharpness.

Now his draught has become an 'issue' and although on the surface that should be a bad thing Im glad of it.

Because instead of it being a personal plight its now all out in the open and one goal - even a scuff or off his backside - will do him the absolute world of good.
