Re: Nelson Mandela

This thread will be like the Thatcher one in some ways - lots of bile. I can see people who were upset at some of the insensitive stuff posted on there trying to get their own back, and trying to wind up the lefties.

Im a big Leftie and i didnt post anything dispectful towards her.

Funny though that you bring a minor world figure into the debate when you consider how much of a Statesman and Icon Nelson became.

Only 3 non Brits have ever spoke to both Houses of Parliament in Westminster Hall. They are Nelson Mandela, The Pope and Barack Obama.

Nothing to do with any kind of logic fella, as this place doesn't follow that. I'm just saying that it will descend into chaos not because of Mandela but because people will try to wind others up. You know it will happen as well as I do.

2 of them are liars and the other one is the head warmonger.

Don't like to see anyone die though so will refrain from slagging him off.

He will be dead in the next couple of days. Had a long eventful life. Not sure of my opinion on him really. Will follow the left right debate with interest.

Is it really a left or right issue?

Two African leaders with comparable situations to Mandela, one thing to point out that independence movement leaders don't necessarily make the best of prime ministers/ presidents. However Nelson Mandela was despite not having as great a positive impact as he could of done, in no way did he reach the excesses of these other two jailbirds.
