This is something to show the scousers, rags, red cannon fodder and other moaners about City’s expenditure. :-)

Chelsea have spent nigh on £350M in the last two seasons & recouped about £100M, doubt they have an equal overspend for the previous 8 seasons, where a lot of their players reached their latter years & commanded little or no return in the transfer market (Lampard/Terry etc) They spent a fortune in the previous decade which was their investment phase (same as ours this last ten years) let’s compare apples with apples & not pears and compare these two periods. Anyway I’ll take the 11 trophies we’ve won & the three this season plus the net spend trophy next year when the sums are done again ;)

The main reason City will never win this dipper trophy is because players we buy don’t tend to leave, bar the odd notable exceptions. That’s why we have the best squad by a country mile… When players do leave it’s normally on a free after many years service..
Amen to that

This is net spend per trophy though, where we piss all over the dippers and not absolute net spend.

Both measures are absoutely pointless.

I did chuckle to myself when I got to the bottom of the article and it had Spurs as N/A
