Never meet your heroes.....

Do we know each other, are you from Middleton

I do the bus from the Albion
Maybe! Yeah I’m from Middleton, I’ve done the bus a few times but usually make my own way. Spend a fair few weekends in the Albion though

Legends them all in a golden era for Welter/middleweights. I'd even throw John (the beast) Mugabe in as well. Those few rounds between hagler and hearns have never been bettered.
Truly a great generation. Nobody ducked the other, all had their own attributes. You're quite right about Mugabe, a beast.
Hagler/Hearns, 3 rounds of mayhem.

Just watched that again, proper boxing.

I'd have been on my arse before the sound of the bell for the first had stopped, in fact, it'd stillbe ringimg in my head now.

When we won the League in 2012 my mate and I went to the reception the following day at the Town Hall.
The players were all waiting in the corrridor outside to enter the room where the great and the good - and we - were all assembled.
Vincent Kompany led them all in and after shaking hands with the Lord Mayor, instead of turning right and shaking hands with the other waiting dignitaries, he turned left to shake my hand and that of my mate.
Naturally, the whole squad followed suit!
(I'd put a picture up if I could!)

Hearns was on the undercard when I saw Hatton at Nynex. I only stayed to watch him just so I could say I'd seen one of the greatest ever. "Four Kings" - Tolm, make sure you read it.

Just ordered it from Amazon £ 12.99 tho so it better be good, dipping into my Guiness fund ;)

Not my hero but, when a kid I used to caddie at Northenden golf club to earn pocket money. Matt Busby was my regular Sunday round, he was a true gent, after all he did play for City. He played a four ball that included Paddy Crerand and Willy Morgan who were both complete w@nkers. If it was raining Busby would give me a lift back to Wythenshaw Road on his way back to Chorlton were he lived.

I bumped into Kevin Keegan in Hale back in March 2016, it was the day after we lost 1-0 at home to the rags and I got chatting about City to him, I said "we could do with you coming back to manage us Kev" he just laughed and said "not much chance of that when you've got Guardiola on the way!"

Also I knew a lady who worked in a shop nearby and he went in there one day, she got chatting and told him she had a friend who was a massive Newcastle fan and idolised him, so he went back in later that day with a signed shirt and some Newcastle memorabilia and said "give these to your friend"

What a guy!
