New CFG team

I'm pretty sure that John van t' Schip deserves to be in that illustrious group too...

I'm not quite as familiar with John, but wasn't he more of a winger/forward? Either way, I guess I should have mentioned him also, yes.

That makes Mombaerts a bit of an odd one out. Anyone know if he played at any level? Can't find a record of it.

I was being sarcastic. The point is, the other three are legends of the game while Melbourne City are stuck with a far less notable person who really owes his managerial career to the fact that he knows (well, knew) Johann Cruyff.

I get you dude. He didn't have an awful career though.

He was originally appointed by the Melbourne Heart ownership, we brought him back when we took over because the ex-assistant John Aloisi was absolute pig-shite, and it was perhaps a safe option from the get go. Bit like Hughes being kept on from Mr Political Fraud's era. But if we had any hand in Seedorf (jumping the guns I know), then it does seem to show a kind of pattern or preference with the CFG leadership. Mancini fitted the broad template too (apart from being a forward).

There is a second division team that play in blue in the city the wrong shade though and second division

Not sure you can read much into where the game is played clubs play all over the world its a big city. You could say why not play in any number of Chinese cities

Interesting that Clarance Seedorf has been appointed coach at Shenzen today.

City have announced a strengthening of a partnership with Shenzhen based PR company Zhong An Holidings.

A lot of things pointing towards a Shenzhen City team now.

I presume its no coincidence we are going to play there in a few weeks, didn't we announce New York City during a club pre-season tour ?

Nope. We announced NYCFC the day we played West Brom in Manchester - a week before Mancini was sacked on the 7th May 2013.

Defo very excited to hear of any further CFG announcements regarding setting up another City club, its am incredible model!

Been loving following New York City and Melbourne City! Bring on the Chinese Super League!
