trying to work out what used to be where the pub will be - chances are the foundations will be aniline blue anyway!

Forge Lane would basically be parallel to the East Stand

IIRC the pub would be in the SW corner. Meaning it would be own the site of an old church/chapel...

Funny that, eh?

Edit, found this: https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LAN/Beswick/CharlesworthStformerlyChurchStWesleyanMethodist

It was actually the Wesleyan Methodist church, Charlesworth St (formerly Church St), Beswick.

Thankfully, "The church does/did not have a graveyard."

Edit 2: I've got the wrong corner. If it's 110, as per the Op, that's the SW corner.

The Forge it is!

What do I win?

GENUKI is a brilliant site, thanks for doing all the cyber digging - wonder what Sarah Ann did to get a street named after her?

I remember going past that wire works many times; whatever they did seemed to involve a lot of flames and heat. I think it was the workers from there who used to go in the local pubs, pick up a pint of mild that was already on the counter, and down it in one.

It's quite amazing to think the Etihad sits on top of that, but only people like me, old enough the remember the "as was" get the full amazement factor. Could not be a bigger change if they dropped the Town Hall and substituted a Cotswold village, complete with ducks.
