New City store opening in the Arndale

What’s the betting that rag fans will be outside the shop as soon as it opens in the morning and taking pictures of a empty shop and saying it’s just like the stadium, the emptihad shop.

I think you're reading too much into this. Might just be a shop selling artisan products, organic fruit and honey, based in an old mill, run by a family that started the company over 125 years ago.

Personally, I hope this new City store will have joss sticks burning, and the girls serving will have a velvet band round their forehead, smell of patchouli and be wearing Afghan coats.

Closed years ago. It was a Thomas Cook, a bank, a covid testing centre, not sure what’s there now.

I remember. I can order online most of what I want but to have to get a tram out to City when I’m shopping in town can be a pain. A presence is important, IMO.

I remember as a kid having to go downstairs past a huge poster of that **** Peter Schmeichel to have a look at the small City bits they had in a shared shop in the Arndale? Reckon I was about 9 or 10. How times have fucking changed eh!
