Anyway the previous episode on the spaceship and this one with the Toymaker were decent enough. But the bi generation?! Just stupid.

Gotta say the Xmas show looks as godawful as the beep the fking meep one. I fear we're going to be going back to rather tiresome soap plots about the companion's family when you've literally got the whole of time and space to play with. Let's hope they manage to find some missing episodes from the real show.

Always thought there were four Scottish Doctors? McCoy, Tennant, Capaldi and Gatwa. I know the latter was born in Rwanda but he was raised and trained in Scotland.
 
The Daily Heil will be raging over that matter of fact introduction of another character. Fuck em.

It was a vibrant episode and Angie Watts was fantastic in it as well. I'm looking forward to the sibling like relationship building with The Doctor and Ruby. Ncuti could well be a great role model for the future generations.

we all felt here that Anita Dobson IS the birth mother of Ruby. The Doctor travels back again and gets to see her face - thats how she knows what a Tardis is !

I'm not sure. She may well be the big bad at the end of the season. (The Rani?)
RTD said her character is a slow burner.

There's something "timey wimey" about Ruby. I was thinking her mother is from the future. I'm only going on that from the can't find the DNA line.
 
Enjoyed it, the story wasn't the strongest ever done but for a christmas special and opener it did what was necessary and was fun.
Ncuti and Millie bounced off each other well and he has a good Doctor vibe.
The story arc looks intresting and who Mrs flood is and Rubys mams mystery are good hooks.
Also addressing the shitshow that was the timeless child idea but not in a sledgehamer way makes sense
