Presumably the qualifying criteria isn't on merit if only certain clubs are involved in the talks. Also will it be a UEFA affiliated competition if there's a dodgy qualifying process. So if it's not a breakaway competition it's probably the precursor to one?I'm not sure many of you have read this. It's just a revamped Champions League with fewer clubs and more "big" games, clearly because there's a lot more money in them. It isn't a replacement for the Premier League.
Most European leagues are dying or dead, even the ones that used to be very competitive. We're very lucky in this country to have such a competitive top division. A breakaway league would probably breathe new life into leagues like the Germans or Italian. The German league would be an excellent competition without Bayern and maybe Dortmund.I'm afraid it's naive to think City will not be drinking at this top table. Can't think any long standing supporter's will be interested in this tbh and I certainly won't be. There pushing for an American style franchise type game with limited numbers for the elite. Death knell for most European leagues because I would imagine the TV money would dry up.

The Rags have been a boring midtable club for best part of a decade. And showing absolutely no signs of changing that, they definitely would not be missed.Premier league should just ban these two clubs then we would have the 18 clubs. They would not be missed.

I'm not sure what the TV deal is in other countries but in this if you took the TV money even mid table teams would struggle to pay wages. FIFA are in cahoots with the red shite on this. If it happens it would be the FIFA European League. UEFA have been completely blindsided by this.If we join i stop supporting Manchester City.
The 2nd tier of clubs need to kick the clubs out of UEFA competion, leagues need to kick the clubs out of their leagues and FIFA need to to ban participating players from participating in the World Cup.
