Would you be offended if we changed our name to Manchester Etihad FC? Or if we changed the colour of the home shirt to orange? Or if we moved to a stadium in Liverpool? To me it's the same thing.

You are Oliver Holt and I claim my five pounds.

If you're not on a wind-up and you genuinely think having the shorts in sky blue is the same as changing the name or moving outside Manchester, then you really do need to have a lie down.

The mind boggles.

I am not saying is it as offensive, but it's the same principle. Part of the identity of the club is that we wear white shorts and blue socks. That is part of what makes us City. What would your reaction be if we were wearing white shirts at home next season? Not arsed? I'd fucking Mark E Smith it.

We had sky blue shorts late 70's, its not like we havent before and we're trying something new.

Yeh so we have worn blue shorts for 4 years out of our 120 year history, first season in the Champions League is the ideal season to let the whole of Europe know about those glorious 4 years. Who could forget the legendary 06/07 team with Mpenza and Vassell tearing up the league. We'd have won the treble that year if only we'd had our imfamous blue and white stripy socks.

We didn't just wear blue shorts for 4 years we wore them from 1976 to 1985, that's 9 years and we came very close to winning the league in two of those years so they do hold a part in our history, we also wore them in 06/07 as you say meaning they've played a part in our recent history.

OK then, we've had 9 years with sky blue shorts and 108 with white. Blue shorts may well be a very small part of our history, but then so is the illuminous yellow and navy striped away, orange away, Swales comb over, losing twice in the league to Stockport, Barry Conlon, but we don't really want to promote these things in our first season in the Champions League do we?

City's traditional colours are blue shirts, white shorts and blue socks. We may have worn variations of these over the last 120 years, but in the most important season for the last 40 years I'd like to see City in City colours. This would not happen at LIverpool, United, Real, Barca, Inter, AC etc. It shouldn't happen at City.

Glad to say i wont be wasting 100 quid on new kits this year. Quite happy about that! ....

Does anybody know if they're still selling the FA cup kits - they're all out of the size 40 online so was hoping to pick one up when im back home in august?!
