New iPhone

I opted to get an S3 the other day instead of waiting for another iphone but I find the battery is terrible despite all the reviews and what people say and all that. I struggle to get a day out of it and that's without even high usage! The iphone's battery seemed poor but I'd get over a day out of it easily. I've read there is a software problem causing quick battery drain with the S3 though that can probably be fixed soon. Apart from that it's a brilliant phone.
I updated mine today, and noticed the improvement in battery straight away. Had to do it through the Kies software though, it wouldn't show up on the over the air section.

My iPhone4 contract runs out this Autumn, so I'll probably upgrade to the 5 when it's eventually released. Was considering going for the Galaxy S3 after my mate was raving about his, but he broke it on a night-out about a week after he got it, moron.

You my friend, are an android fanboy.
Not at all, but I'll admit to detesting Apple. I can't stand them as a company and I dislike all their products.

For me personally i buy the phone that i need/ enjoy most (i don’t currently own an iPhone). Whether that’s an iPhone or an Android it shouldn't matter. As a consumer you should simply purchase what you like without feeling the need to bash another brand.
Indeed. The point is that the Android phones are generally cheaper for more functionality. With the Apple products you pay a premium for a logo from a company that tries to sue the rest for using things Apple didn't even invent, slide-to-unlock being a case in point.

It's what Apple are known for. iPhones, OSX, Apple TV... All their products are severely lacking in features and always have been. They strip out the features so there is less to go wrong, but in doing so they leave the product almost featureless. They then charge more than the product is worth to a group of people who don't know their stuff and think expensive=better.

As already pointed out, your comments sound like opinions wrapped as facts. Having a bigger screen isn’t always better for everyone. An iPhone may not be for you but we don’t need an S3 sales pitch based on your requirements and preferences.
They are facts. I never said that a bigger screen is necessarily better, nor that you had to opt for a larger screen version. I simply pointed out that the Galaxy range has phones with bigger screens. It is the reason why there are phones in the Galaxy range with the same size screen as the iPhone. That is where another difference lies. The iPhone is a pretty average spec phone with no variety, I can't get one with a different screen, a different processor, a hardware keyboard, etc. because they just don't exist.

The battery on my android was like that at first. Fully charge it and run it all the way down until it switches off a few times and you'll see a huge improvement. I also noticed the battery on mine got better the more I used the phone. It'll last 2 days if I'm careful

Edited for accuracy...

Great advice, that really does work
Another tip is that if you hold the home key it will take you to the task manger and you can kill the apps running in the background instantly. Also turn of wifi and gps when your not using them, that helps. I get just under 2 days with moderate use on my S3 battery now

What people don't realise is a jailbroken apple tv and iPhone is the 2 best all you will ever need gadgets

Ah.... the old 'my dicks bigger than yours debate' lol

Yeah pity I'm off to the pub as iPhone v Galaxy looks really interesting.

No hang on I forgot. At some point today I'll see or hear this going on between mates or complete strangers, almost a daily occurrence now as some boring **** upgrades. It's like being in a mobile phone advert for real and I fucking hate mobile phone adverts with a passion. I'm more interested later on in the night when the dozy fuckers drop their latest gadgets in pints or pissers etc. That should be the real test, how your phone handles a night out.
