What is the obsession with navy socks. White please.

erm, they, along with sky blue and maroon, are our traditional sock colours, white has an extremely minor role as a sock colour in our history, and that is how it should remain, as the previous 2 colour combinations may us distinct from other sky blue clubs.

It looks terrible though.

Correct.

You only have to look at that picture above of the Women's team. I doubt anyone recognises any of the players, but you know instantly by looking at the kit which teams they are. One is Arsenal, one is Manchester City.

If they had white socks on it could be Coventry, could be Lazio, could be Napoli, could be Marseille, there would be no way to tell. Because they've got sky blue shirts, white shorts, navy blue socks, you know instantly it's Manchester City. No other team plays in those colours, it's unique to us and that's why we should always wear it.

I think the pic is of the ladies, in reality this season's kit looked terrible, the shirt was awful and I don't think a good kit, with good navy socks is terrible at all. It's distinctive, and United wear black socks when their kit looks better with white, and Chelsea wear white socks when their kit looks better with blue. Why? because they're the historical colours and they don't get messed around with, and the same should apply to us as well. Sky blue and maroon or Navy should the majority of the time be our club socks, and in recent years they've been woefully underused.

I see what you mean, but our alleged new kit doesn't have a collar and has some kind of a v-neck

I think the cityzens image is the kit.

Nike seem to using the 'triangle' in a lot of their new kits.

They have the same triangle in the same position as the cityzens one.

Not overly sure which England Shirt you are looking at but the New one definitely hasn't not the Triangle on it. I really like the England shirt by the way

It definitely has. It's where the Cityzens badge is on the new City shirt.

We have had just as many light coloured socks as navy.

By all means have sky blue socks (same colour as the shirt) but don't have navy. Looks awful. Like kids who've forgotten half their kit.

Agree with that, but its all about opinions , mine is pale blue or white, navy socks remind me of the bad old days.

P.S It's navy socks for me as well, looks much better than white.
I do like the blue & maroon socks as well though.
Just not white!!
