New Kit Deal - Under Armour?

I don't think that's necessarily true, mate.

The distribution networks that Nike and adidas have around the world, particularly in the US and Asia compared with Umbro or Under Armour, is incredible.

Nike could be an excellent long-term partner for City, but we're at a bit of an awkward point. We feel we are worth more money, but we're not shifting enough product to demand better terms, so something has to give.
They should try designing a shirt that the fans want to buy in the first place, rather than forcing a new style on us with the very loosest nod to our traditional image.
It is rare I hear any fan giving positive feedback to the new kit. I don't own one and I don't know anyone who does (the home kit).
I liked our umbro kits, and if we were successful the kits would have sold no matter where in the world fans were.
Nike have alienated me from the club in a way I never thought was possible. I remember when adidas used to have a generic top with 3 big stripes on the shoulder in the 90's. Liverpool played in it ( among many others) and I couldn't believe that a club would forsake it's heritage in this way for cash, but apparently we can do that now.
Some things are just not for fucking about with.

Sounds like we could get a good deal with under armour then, looks like a few fat bastards will have to get in shape.

I'm not bothered about designs as such, as I have never bought a football shirt in my life, but I do wish we could have white shorts when we wear our home shirt.

Sky blue shorts didn't look right back in 1977, or whenever it was they were introduced, and they never will.

Laser Blue, two tone blue on the new one, what's wrong with tradition?

Well, nothing in my view, as I can't see Everton turning out like Chelsea, or United turning out like Liverpool, so let's keep our white shorts.

I totally agree with you about Nike fucking around with our heritage. 100%. In fact, I feel that strongly I've written to the club about it. I conducted a survey of 1000 City fans amd found 98% identified City as having sky blue shirts and white shorts. I've passed this information on to the club in the hope that they listen to the thoughts of the fans.

But that's a slightly separate issue than saying we should move to any old manufacturer as long as they give us a kit we want.

Identity is important, but in the modern world so is our exposure around the world. The only two companies capable of reaching every corner of the world are Nike and adidas. We need to be with one of them imo, but they need to respect our history and identity. Sky blue shirts and white shorts should be non-negotiable and it should be written in to the contract.

Forgive my cynicism about football in the modern world, but alternating between blue and white shorts every year gives the club a revenue stream, and that will never change.

I agree, our home kit should be white shorts, but the money grabbing twats that run our club now will never allow it. We are destined to alternate between blue and white shorts every other year, and you can protest all you like, but it will fall on deaf ears and be ignored.

I don't suppose you received a reply from the club, I would be amazed if you had to be honest, but let's face it, kids pretending to be Aguero when they have a kickabout want the latest kit, and there is no money to be made if they can wear the same colour shorts two seasons on the trot.

It sucks, sure it does, but it's the modern game and they don't give a shit.

Wonder what kinda value we're tryna get out of this deal.

Should be at least 2-3 times the old one, minimum.

As long as the shirts are sky blue, shorts white and socks sky blue white/maroon.
Otherwise I don't give a shit.
Them mock ups look decent tbf

UA is a developing brand they have similar trajectory to CFG. Their product is a better quality than Adidas or Nike in my opinion and they seem to stick to the clubs traditions in terms of design. Good potential partner in my view

I collect shirts of other clubs. I have a New Balance shirt of a certain La Liga club. And it's pretty shit quality. American capitalism at its finest.

I've not seen or felt the Spurs shirt so I wouldn't know if it was awesome or shit. Hoping it isn't too bad if we end up switching to UA, founded by ex-Maryland Terrapins who should have some sports insight.

UA are becoming a heavy hitter in the sports world. The list of their endorsements includes Tom Brady, Stephen Curry and Bryce Harper.
Getting Man City's kit deal would be totally in line with them being on the cutting edge.
