Looks like we now have a flat rate which we will pay to the council, could this be part of the masterplan to extend the stadium and retain more income rather than it based on a sliding scale on attendances.

It must be about stadium expansion, otherwise we have just increased our leasing costs by 50%

Good find. Agree this suggests City planning for an expanded ground

I don't see the point in an expansion...we can't even fill the ground at the moment...what's the point in extending and having thousands of empty seats?
If we were to go on and win the premiership and the chumps league then have loads trying to get tickets fair enough...but Ifor one would rather have a full stadium every week rather than be rattling in one with all the empties.

I honestly think if the pricing is right and there is (will be) success on the pitch the attendance will soar( 47k is still not bad), if you look at the German model for ticket prices it is a huge success, factor in extra programme sales, food sales and shirt sales etc this would generate more income than inflated season ticket prices in a smaller stadium.

but if we do go for expansion, it isnt done right on the spot, the plans and what not take a while, then it takes time to expand the stadium, and in that time we will have chumps league.

I think one of the main reasons for the expansion will be a lot more corporate boxes/hospitality - this will be the a cash cow for the future. How long will the expansion take? 2-3 years? If we're in the champions league (as we should be), we'll easily get 60K on a CL night in 2-3 years.

Let's look 3-4 years down the line. Affordable pricing (let's say £20 in L1&3), success on the pitch, new metrolink for easier access to and from the ground... we could do 55-60k for most of the decent games IMO.
