New Music - 2024

Listening to On A Golden Shore by The Hanging Stars - a cosmic Americana band from London.

New Linkin Park is decent. Definitely playing it safe but I understand why. The nu-metal revival of the last five years has been fun.

Just been looking at tickets for Wembley.
The only gig in the uk.
The prices these days are taking the piss.
Your looking at least £266.00 per ticket FFS

New Michael Kiwanuka album out today. As good as expected

Had a listen and a half. Quite like it when it moves from slightly 'lounge' to simpler soulful. Think it will reveal a lit more as it settles.

Unlike the new King Stingray album which most likely won't, but is still a fun and pleasant listen.

Here are my top dozen tracks of the year…

It’s not in a particular order of favouritism or owt. More that I like the way it flows in that order. Starts off big and banging, gets more mellow and laid back half way through, and then some suitable end of set tracks to finish with.

The outro of Van Houten ‘I Let You’ is the best outro I’ve heard for years so is a good one to end the playlist with.

A lot of British Isles on there. I’ve felt like we’ve been lagging behind with bands over the last decade but some good ones in that playlist.

Little Barrie - Nottingham
The Eggmen Whoooooo! - Neath
The Dream Machine - Wirral
The Lotts - Warrington
A Certain Ratio - Manchester
Fontaines DC - Dublin
Van Houten - Leeds
Nightjar - Manchester (it’s Jimi Goodwin from Doves)

Ultrasonic Grand Prix/Shawn Lee is from Kansas, then The Amazing are Swedish and Kosmetika are Aussies.
