I guess the badge has been put on the shield due to the textured material which would affect a printed badge and cause a 'rippled' effect. It may just be too expensive to embroider them these days?
 
Nah,it just makes a shirt a bit uncomfortable on a player.It increases the shirt's "weight" which in turn worsens the fit.

Their badge look good with a shield as it fits the shape perfectly, ours looks like a badge stuck on a shield.

I didn't think their away kit could get any worse than this year's tequila sunrise but they've had a damn good go:

On first look I thought this was a picture of Galatasaray, then I saw Messi. lol. Better than both of this year's kits.
