I could be wrong, but I assume it's clubs like Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, West Ham and Brentford?I'm possibly missing the point, but who do you think is driving these changes if none of those clubs are?

Stefan's explainer posted yesterday
Supposedly Barcelona, Madrid, Munich and Arsenal and ourselves.I read recently that of the 5 clubs paying the most wages, only 2 or in England.
Maybe this is another back door way of joining a European super league
I actually wouldn’t be surprised nor would I blame the top clubs(if they did join a super league)when this is voted through.I read recently that of the 5 clubs paying the most wages, only 2 or in England.

Nothing negative about what is said above, but it’s ironic to hear that a new limit is needing to be being brought into place…for protection, of course…but it is not going to restrict anyone! That begs the question “Why would the PL need this, then?”
Of course, if a club signs massive commercial deals, the money isn’t going to be allowed to be used by the club on the field…so where will it go???
American modern ownership of sport is one that is socialist at the worker bee level, but ultra-capitalist at the ownership level.
Players have salary caps, owners have zero limited upside on both the revenues that flow to them and the resultant value of their clubs.
I listened to a recent deal on TV where private equity was involved, where the person reviewing the deal said it was over a $10Bn deal and the proximity of a $20Bn deal was closer than people might think, given the brake on costs with no upside limit on revenues!
This will be voted through as the owners of most prem clubs want an excuse not to spend. As you say this reeks of the yanks It will take a few years to happen but the rest of Europe will catch the premier league. It’s short term thinking and very very naive if not utterly brainlessYank fingers all over this meaning more money for them to take and take, this goes through the premier league will end up being like the Scottish league or a second tier league, with all the top players being hoovered up by Spain,Germany,Italy and France, any gems that slip through will eventually go the same way ..
IF We get relegated (I know I know) you know that tricky Dicky has been instructed to get this vote passed the same day. Any opportunity to get us out. Permanently. If this gets passed it wont be long until the drawbridge is pulled up and promotion and relegation is a thing of the past. This is the exact sort of thing that the regulator was designed to crush.
A complete over-reaction. There has never been any mention of ending promotion/relegation. You are just throwing out the worst case scenario. If this gets passed it wont be long until the drawbridge is pulled up and promotion and relegation is a thing of the past. There was never a mention of anchoring either…until it was mentioned.A complete over-reaction. There has never been any mention of ending promotion/relegation. You are just throwing out the worst case scenario.
