No normal fan would take out his phone for a photo or a video from the opponents and smile, that´s embarrassing and a problem, that the club created, although there are enough blues who would like to sit there.

I’ve seen many an opposition fan with their cameras out when City have scored, so it not just at City.

Maybe young people have got a bit more going on in their lives than having their weekend/week, spoiled by a football match?
As a FOC, I don’t understand how that can be true, obviously, but times are somewhat different, I suppose.
I’d imagine pricing out the demographic who used to go and who were passionate about it contributes to this in no small way.

I hadn't noticed the dodgy fingers, but yeah the more you look it defo looks like an AI enhanced image...does anyone know where this image originated from?

I made a comment in the post match that near me in 324 the usual fella next to me has gone and I was literally surrounded by about 30 Middle Eastern and American “fans”. Most couldn’t speak English and the American woman sat in front of me was watching a film on her iPad the whole time.

Game’s gone.

Modern day youngsters for you it’s all for clicks and likes on social media, I went to Heaton Park to watch oasis, two women in front had their phones out filming but right in my view, I calmly said why are you filming and not enjoying it in the moment you’ll never watch that video anyway! Surprisingly they actually agreed and put their phones down fucking result.

There are an increasing number of fans from overseas for whom a visit to the Etihad is an “event”, rather like going to a Rolling Stones gig without actually liking their music much would be an “event”. Oh, they go into the shop and get the shirt, I'm sure they do. That too is part of the “event”. It's all very good for the coffers.
They are not supporters as you and I would understand the term. Sorry, but they're just not. By the way, I've met a number of them on flights going over for matches. Nice enough people, of course. Met a couple of Canadians at the Arsenal match two years ago, going back down to London on the train. Nice lads. On a package. One was an Arsenal “fan”, the other a City “fan”. We met up the next day, had coffee. We didn't talk football much, to be honest. There wasn't really a lot to talk about in that line. I've been to Canada several times, both east and west, and it's a country I appreciate quite strongly. Mainly talked about that.
If this is the general way it's going, I'm out. A sprinkling, here and there in the stadium, sure, why not? As I say, I understand that there is a business side to running MCFC. But there is a critical mass, beyond which I would feel thoroughly alienated in that stadium. It would no longer be being with my tribe, as it has been for more than fifty years.
As I say, nothing personal.
