New shirts too tight!!

I think it is a little more fitted than last years but i like it like that, hate baggy football shirts!

Tie one end of the shirt to the nearest tree , and get the dog to pull at the other end with his teeth ...... it'll fit you like a glove after a couple of minutes!

I don't buy clothes from the Internet anymore, everyone is too unreliable for sizing. I went through a spate of having to send things back and got sick of it.
Ideally I'm a 46" chest. But brands have anything from XL, 5, 46" but then I'll get one of these and it will be a completely different size to an XL, 5, 46" of another brand.
So I just physically go to shops and buy clothes after trying on now. I recently bought two polos; one XL from Pretty Green and one XXL from Paul Smith. The XL from PG is the bigger of the two. How would I know that when buying online?!
