Not just a shirt sponsorship though, is it? Has anyone ever totalled up the other clubs' numbers when it's like for like?

It says at the bottom of that tweet that it's just shirt sponsorship. I've since read an article ( from the Mirror) that claims the total Etihad deal is worth £80m per annum now.

Abu Dhabi will be fine with Etihad making a billion dollar loss. It's not ideal as it's making a loss but they can afford it. Like Emirates or Qatar Airways, it's the best way for rich gulf countries to have a stake on the global stage. What screwed Etihad's balance sheet up over the past few years is misguided investments in Air Berlin and Alitalia. Easy to forget that 70% of all airports also make a loss - their benefit is derived from the wider economic impact visitors bring.

Then I am very envious—where have they let you off to with your tag?

I’m currently serving my sentence for another three weeks before a near month-long jaunt through Denmark, Germany, France, and finally (gulp) Switzerland (where I will be spending probably far too much time the missus’ family). Unfortunately, I have to infrequently serve bits of time whilst abroad, as they’ve got no one that can take care of my kitchen duties.
