See how Bony performs between now and January. His strength and ability to old the ball up are obviously very good, but often we don't need to play that way. That said, if he suddenly links up well with De Bruyne or something and gets a few goals then he'll be off the mark and opinions will change. KDB showed already his set pieces are possibly worth a few million to us, Bony should be one of the main ones to benefit. A few goals and we won't recognize him, he'll start playing with confidence and things will start coming off for him. Then we'll have an update on Dzeko that WILL get stuck in and CAN control the ball when it comes to him, in additional to bagging the goals, which is exactly what we wanted. To judge him after a handful of appearances is a little rash, especially when there is nothing to be done about it until January, and even then it would come at a cost.
I don't see any value in buying a striker in January. We'd pay over the odds, cause uncertainly within our own squad and even then it is no guarantee that a new striker would settle in well enough to perform. Villa may be an option if injuries surface but otherwise I would expect us to not budge. Berahino seems to like drifting out wide, not sure he's the striker we would need but I like him and could see him as the right sided attacker in a front three.
Give it a couple of months, when Sterling and Bony both hopefully have bagged a few goals each, then we'll see. Swansea rated Bony above Gomis, to the point that Gomis would likely have left if Bony stayed, but Gomis is seemingly on fire at the moment, put that down to a different system or just form, but we haven't just bought trash in Bony.

Im sure Bony will come good, he's on an epic dry spell and getting too desperate for a goal. once he gets a couple I reckon he will start banging them in for fun.

If we are signing anyone in January it should be a Navas replacement. His final ball is obviously driving the players crazy - like Yaya. We need a speed merchant but who can either go for goal headless chicken style or put the ball in the right place more often than not. Mahrez?

It's too early to write off Bony completely. The only reason for getting another striker is if we can get someone proven on the European level like Benzema, Muller, etc.
Or we can get a very strong younger talent like Lacazette. Even with that we're taking a risk.

Christ this is a very premature thread isn’t it. The lad hasn’t even had a full season with us. Probably the same bells who rated Jovetic and should of given him more time than the two full years he had with us. He hasn’t had a run of games to get going and was probably going to be the case if we was playing one up top as that would be Aguero. I thought Bony was class at West Brom, held the ball up well and set up chances from his hold up play. He has done this in a few of the games and seemingly gone unnoticed. What might be his problem is if he isn’t having a consistent run in the team playing 90 minutes week in week out he might not hit the ground running when called upon which would be a problem and where we may need to look at replacing. Lets at least give him a few games and a chance though eh?

Well he's not helping in the Champions League. So yah we'll need a striker if we want to progress in the quarter finals and beyond.

Forgive me , but I am not very good with the Champions League rules etc.... are we allowed to make changes to the Squad List in January after the transfer window? If so, and if Bony keeps being shit, surely Nacho should replace him in the CL?
