New striker?

Yes, that's called bias. If you "don't get the hype" about the player with the joint best strike rate in Premier League history, who's scored 142 goals in 200 games, is he second fastest player to 100 goals, multiple golden boots, has scored more goals in a season than Aguero ever has, who carries a shit Spurs side for long periods at a very young age and has an exceptional record in Europe ...it's because you're not looking at it objectively.

We've all been there. I thought Kyle Walker was shit when he was at Spurs, and massively overrated, and it took seeing him perform consistently in a City shirt to change my mind.

And he is good in the air. Something we have lacked for a long time.

If the right player becomes available .. now is the time. We have no idea how Sergio will recover and how this may affect his game/fitness. If we want to preserve his health and longevity in the team we need another forward but only of the right calibre . It’s a difficult situation to manage because pandemic or not ,once Sergio is set to go we will get absolutely gouged in the market... unless his “ replacement “ is already here!

Leagues are primarily won on defense.

17/18 season: Concede 27, Scored 106
18/19 season: Concede 23, Scored 95
19/20 season: Concede 35, Scored 102

Players miss chances, yes we need to improve on it, but it's not the biggest issue.

But it seems to me that conceding is the BIGGER issue.
How about points we have taken from top 6 in the previous 3 seasons ?
Of course conceding is the bigger issue. We scored almost as many goals in our centurions season as this season. The problem is defence and we don’t need another striker until Sergio leaves, and he’ll probably extend until 2022. Striker is probably the least of our priorities right now.

You can't separate defence and offence into distinct categories like that.

We aren't a side that loses slugging contests where both sides attack and the best wins. We lose games when we concede a goal against a side who then successfully parks the bus, and usually we concede those goals because the attack is not working first, which builds pressure, and we over commit trying to force a goal.

If you bumped up our efficiency in front of goal 10%, we'd concede 10 fewer goals, easily.

Because time after time, we miss buckets of good chances, panic, and then concede a stupid goal on the break because we're desperate to score or else we'll fall behind in the table.

If we wait till next year, that’s the title gone. Don’t think the board are that foolish. Lukaku would be great, we have a lot of the ball against deep opposition defences, kdb can certainly pick him out. Not had that since Dzeko/Negredo

Lukaku is a exciting signing to think about. We all know that he can handle the epl, dont remeber what happend with him in manu but scored for fun in Everton and killing it in Italy now. I would welcome him with open arms. Long time ago we had a ''big strong'' striker. KDB would get over 25 asists with him in the team.

Football shows how opinions can vary widely, some are wanting Lukaku but I would rather have syphilis. Imo he would not fit the way we play and is not of the quality we need for our style.

And with the way Grealish delivers his crosses!!

People underestimating how much this injury could affect Aguero, IMO.

The way we play though means that defence and attack aren’t two separate things. We score so many goals because we overwhelm teams, often having 9 players In the attacking third. The downside is that, occasionally, it does for us defensively, as you might expect. It’s why the defensive midfielder is so vital to our team and why not getting a CH really hurt us wasn’t in ‘not having a centre half’ it was in losing the finest DM and having him play CH. That’s why I’d love us to sign Roberto from Barca, as I’m not convinced Rodri can get anywhere near being the player Fernandinho is. Funnily enough, I thought his best game for us was when he played CH at Palace, so maybe he’s an option there?

Agree with this. Ferno playing CB and losing his anticipation and drive and sense of danger in midfield has caused us to lose our title. So hard to replace him. I like Rodri, he is calm, very rarely loses the ball, good in the air but lacks Ferno's ability to take hold of a game. Where do we find another like him?

You talk sense most often...but that is complete drivel.
We don't need to be more clinical, we score 100 a season....we simply need to concentrate or get defenders who can.
The best keepers are in top sides who produce great saves when only facing a couple of shots a game....same with defenders, not the ones throwing themselves in front of everything for 90min.
You are actually saying if we score enough it doesn't matter what we concede....might aswell play 11 cfs then?
