New supporters/interest in City.

was in London at the weekend all the shops and stall around piccadilly circus had loads of city stuff along with liverpool chelsea arsenal and utd

went in a football shop on oxford st loads of city stuff in there and even the new red and black shirt the 2 tourists in there both buying city stuff

you can see the difference now times are changing last season you would never have seen any city gear in london

I am doing my best to encourage support for City in the USA...I do not do tattoos, so I customized the registration plate on my car...when someone asks about it, I am more than happy to share the meaning with them. And it winds up the rag fans the the Pub where I watch matches every time they see it.

I don't live in Manchester and I still dont see any City shirts around, none of the Sports shop in town sell any City gear. Met no new City fans around here Think we will have to wait around 10 years for that. Just seems everyone has an opinion on us now thats all.

City shirts are not sold other than in official club shops............

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

My missus mum is a manager in sports world, apparently they are selling the city shirts this season. The club must have realised theyre loosing alot of money.

This forum doesn't host, you have to upload the images to something like tinypic or imageshack and then post the url from there, between the tags.

What really matters at the moment are the kids. We lost a generation to united. Are we reversing that trend yet? I don't know, anyone with kids in Manchester schools?

Was only commenting on this the other day, there seems to be a lot more kids now sporting city kits - my lad used to be in the minority at school when he started 4 years ago but the tide is definitely turning. Kids were happily taking the mick a few years back (wore his City shirt for Sports Day the week after the hiding at Middlesbrough), but who is laughing now. He's 8 now and I'm confident he'll be having the last laugh before he leaves for secondary school ..............and he who laughs last............

My sister lives and works in Los Angeles, she is, like me, blue born and bred, she is a director in a company over there and recently took on a new employee(an American born and raised in LA) he saw the City mug on her desk and started reeling off facts about City, turns out he is a fan, she explained to him our family all blues,I'm season ticket holder etc, he nearly wets himself with excitement and next thing I'm in the club shop buying city shirt for him (cost 50% more in LA and not widespread availability). Since then, word has spread and 2 more City fans in her company have come forward asking for merchandise to be sent over.
As for kids becoming City fans, my 8 year old son was never going to be anything but a blue(5th generation) but I have noticed more and more City shirts in his school on non- uniform days(it does help that lots of the staff are blues, and the lunch staff did a City themed meal the Friday before FA Cup final) it's his generation that our new found success will attract, we need to target them and get them hooked, so that they too can pass down the greatest gift a parent can give, being a City fan!

Look at the transfer forum, you'll see many of our newer fans from afar there, like the guy obsessed with Hazard who is never off the transfer forum. ;)
