New team soon, stop worrying.

hughes would still get new players in this window even if we didnt have as much money as we do. he would do what he did at blackburn and get players that are actually good. players like santa cruz and benni mccartney are players that would get in our team. warnock and bentley would have walked into our team last year.

changing a manager after 6 months gets you nowhere. imagine what bridge, swp, zabaleta, kompany would think?

i agree he should not have to buy a whole new team but if you think we could get anywhere near top 6 with the side from last yeat you are crazy. our squad is poor and had been exposed a long time ago.

Well he's brought in 5/6 players very good one's aswell(-tbh and Jo we all know about that one thaskin signing etc) and we still need 2 cb's and 2 cm's and 2 strikers. Thats what im getting at when I said it will be a new team when he's had the time.

What worries me about Hughes is the baffling decisions he make, eg:

1 - We won games early on away by having two holding players and hitting teams ont he break - so why at boro, bolton, Blabkburn, WBA, Wigan did he play 1 holding and four offensive midfielders.

2 - Playing SWP in central midfield - comical tbh from Boro away to Everton at home 8 games 4 points

3 - v Liverpool when Zabaleta got sent off he put Gelson at right back who preceded to get torn to shred by Yossi - and even before they equalised he could still have moved gelson to DM, Kompany to DC and Micah to RB.

4 - v Newcastle - we played against 10 men for 80 mins, had 74% of the possesion so why did he keep Hamann and Kompany on for so long - should of taken Haman of for Elano and had more creative spark.

5 - v Brighton he played Sturridge on the left and he was fucking awful - so after his 10 mins v Blackburn the obvious thing to do was.... play him on the left. And then because that didnt work put Gelson on the left!

6 - Play Ireland on the left or right - he is someone playing out of skin going box to box. We have looked fantastic with him on the ball in the middle of the park - so why has he taken to moving him out wide to fill in. Fulham in particular was screaming out for Ireland in the middle, instead we had SWP in the middle and Vassell doing who knows what

7 - Tal Ben Haim

8 - Loss of confidence - Dunne and Richard looked fantastic last year - and in previous years. Now they look nervous on the ball, unsure and indecisive in defence, this is a confidence issue and as manager this is Hughes' responsability.

9 - Total lack of unity and team spirit

10 - Bringing on Hamann when your 2-0 at home to a lower league team

11 - Derby Day - Taggart picks Park on the right to nullify Robinho, we have Ireland on the right against Evra. Evra was by far their best player because he knew he could bomb forward and has the pace to get back. SWP had a lot of ball n the middle but it was 'comfortable possesion' for them, whenever he did break free they brought him down. SWP on the right would of restricted Evra - particually when Ronaldo went off. Ireland would of been more effective in the middle and he should of brought Robinho in field to play off Benjani.

i could go on but its becoming a rant

Great post, good to see you've backed up your opinion with plenty of examples of Hughes ineptness. It's interesting that none of the Hughes apologists have replied to it.

Good points, Agree with all of that also.

Just think it would be silly to change manager again, lets hope he's learned from he's mistakes and we can move on.

And I stand by my points.

How about getting out of a relegation battle?

You are spouting cliches with nothing to back them up other than the ludicrous assertion that Hughes is such a poor manager that he can only get results if he is allowed to change the majority of the squad.

You know for a fact that this squad, player for player is better than at least half the league. You also know for a fact that if you had been shown these results at the start of the season you would have considered it impossible that Hughes could lead them to such pathetic results.

The buck stops with the manager and no manager in history at any club has been crap enough to suggest that they can only get results with players that they have personally bought

no manager at any club who were in the shape we were in has said he could turn it all round in 6 months. i have seen enough from hughes to believe he will help the club progress. where in the league do you think we should be with our squad?

I think we should be just behind Villa and Everton with this squad , certainly above the likes of Hull and Fulham and Wigan.

fuck off i don't want a team built by this fucking clown especially with him wanting to sign fucking bellamy and scott bloody parker, get this fucking **** out now before he ties down mediocre shite like bellamy to a 4 year contract on 100 grand a week and becomes another danny mills

We can only sign players who are available vbr and at least on past performances are better than what we currently have.

I haven't actually heard Hughes say he is after bellamy and parker and tend to agree they are not part of any long term future at this club.

In saying that I have been very disappointed with Hughes performance as manager to date and he has to improve and quickly if he is to remain as manager.

Bojinov, Petrov and Johnson were not brought in by Hughes - I assume that means they won't perform for him either then?

Read again before diving inn, I've not said that at all.

Petrov was on fire, Johnson was playing well as was Bojinov, so yes they would perform for him and they know they are good enough to stay aswell.

Bojinov? When? Still all clinging to the idiot twins then. It's this kind of unrealistic bigging up and becoming invested in players that prevents you from knowing when to fold them. They are NOT good enough. They have never been good enough for where we wanted to good (but never had the means). Our defence was average last year, mid-table among defences, and it has simply deteriorated to a mockery. Hart needs benching, Dunne and Richards out of the door, Vassel, Ball, Hamann have to go asap, no loitering around the squad poisoning the atmosphere and doing their union shop routine.

Whether Hughes stays or goes I want this lot out.

BUT the defence is not better than half the league- this coupled with lazy twats in front (Elano, Fernandez, etc....) is why we keep losing. If Hughes gets two centre backs and a couple of ball winning midfielders we will shoot up the league.
