The MEN says they are awaiting planning approval yet they have already started work?

Is the training ground for Academy only. Presumably it replaces Carrington and is for the Academy and First Team? Or is this the site for the Academy, and 1st team stays at Carrington

There were a couple of items on Radio Manchester this morning. 80 acre facilty replacing Carrington and Platt Lane. Hope to include a rehabilition/research centre. Interview with someone described as head of infrastructure.
Thanks. Makes sense for Academy players to see the 1st team. I assume Platt Lane remains and gets used by the Council/Locals

He said the plan was to still keep the community connections with Platt Lane.

Re: Big MCFC announcement today

I think that these training facilities will be excellent for the local communities, if they are allowed to use them for free, but I have a few questions regarding making this the new training ground.

Most footballers live out in the suburbs, which has easy access to the Carrington training complex...Wilmslow, Hale, Bowden, Alderley Edge, Poynton, Mottram etc... Driving into Town in morning rush hour traffic will be a pain in the arse, unless they have some sort of helipad setup that can pick them up in Wilmslow or summat?

Polution, a training complex in Manchester City center which is clogged up with car fumes and industrial noise, seems abit grim to me. I can see the first team staying where they are and leaving this complex to the kids.

Chances of this happening are zero.
