New Turnstiles v Tottenham Hotspur Tomorrow

That is almost exactly my experience for the Spurs match last weekend. It's a complete shitshow and just the same as your Dad, I've not heard a thing from the club since then.
The only saving grace for me is that I'm away on holiday for the last 2 weeks of September, so I have transferred my ticket to my brother for the United game and listed my ticket on the exchange for the Burnley game.
There’s 3 of us can’t make the Derby and have transferred our tickets to mates, who are all Citizens members.
Tickets have appeared in their accounts but the ‘add to mobile’ bit is greyed out. No idea how to sort that one out!

It will be fine, the club don't allow them to download the ticket until a week before the game, same happened to the person I transfered my Tottenham ticket too.

I think they can be added to wallets a bit nearer to the actual match.
Maybe in a week's time or so.

They need to get sorted before the derby or there be hell outside, I’ll try getting in early just in case.
Its going to be utter carnage. There was so many rightly angry people stuck in a queue for the ticket office post kick off for Spurs, imagine how angry they'll be when they're missing the derby and missing kick off for the second game in a row.

The problems will remain, city have inexcusably stayed silent and wont offer any solution to the issues so we'll all likely be denied entry yet again and be forced to queue up in an hour+ long queue again through no fault of our own.

As a one-off, im planning on getting there literally as the gates open as im fully anticipating my ticket will not work once again and so I might get in before kick off that way. That alone is an unreasonable ask, i shouldnt have to sacrifice the build up to a game and look to get inside more than an hour prior to when id like to just to ensure i dont miss half the game again.

should I have problems again, i'll be down at city in person in the days after to demand a solution

Does anyone else believe the club has remained silent because they don't have a bloody clue how to resolve the issue?
I messaged the 'help team' on twitter on Tuesday for clarity regarding the entrance I was supposed to use after last Saturday's fiasco.

From experience they are normally very quick to respond yet I've not had any communication. They clearly haven't a clue!
I actually feel sorry for the those who have to respond because they should have been given direction by the person(s) in charge.

They clearly haven't!

I still can't believe that some fans are complaining about accessing the ground, the club have put cameras onto each turnstile it's like big brother and they are doing it.

Nobody forced them to do it.

And now to make sure that you are not passing your ticket on preventing them from reselling it they can use your picture taken at the turnstile to prove it's not you.

That's what fans should be mad about.

Ohh and having to have a paid membership paid for yearly to receive a ticket is criminal.

The use of biometrics is of no concern to me in respect to football ticketing. It matters much more when it comes to Policing and social control but that is another matter entirely, and it is already a battle that is lost. I don't think the state has any interest is using images of football fans moving though turnstiles. It is an apolitical activity.

This club chose to use it they weren't ordered to use it, people shouldn't be willing to have their face scanned by a company that doesn't need to do it.

I didn't mention the state this isn't a conspiracy theory, in this particular instance the club is acting arbitrarily like a mini state and they can fuck off.

Well, they weren't asked to do it but it makes it a lot easier for them to deny you access if you have a ticket off a friend and not bought by Citys own scummy 3rd party sites.

The state isn't a conspiracy theory. City's interest is in maximising ticketing revenue. They want to monetise the sale of football globally, not restrict it to a tiny group.

The club has stated the cameras are for staff use only.
It's logical to assume they wouldn't go to such expense for staff only entry, but there is no proof they are using it to check who uses a match ticket. There are potential GDPR issues to resolve before it's used as you fear.

When their staff use every turnstile which they don't their reason for installing them might be valid mate and even that's a push, however I don't trust them and season by season they don't do anything to make me trust them.

Last season there was a climb down of sorts with the Etihad authorities (Let's call them that) realised the they were charging too much, now it's almost like a punishment with cameras ticket transfer problems and "Technical" difficulties with people stuck at those shit turnstiles.

Why are people saying they are using cameras on the turnstiles when we have been told categorically by the club that they are not using them?

It's like making a pie and then telling someone that nobody is going to eat it, what are they doing there Eccles?

It's for the staff they say :)

Now you know very well that pies is a sore subject with me when related to our ground @mexico1970!!! ;-)
