New TV advice

I'm thinking of buying a TCL C7K 55" telly as they seem like really good value for the level of specs. Just rang Richer Sounds and they've sold out so they must be decent. Telesales guy praised them highly but any of you own a TCL TV and are you happy with it?

I'm particularly interested in what our resident TV expert @Two Gun Bob has to say...
Bought a TCL 55" back in November and it it is a great living room TV, it was from eBay and in a promotion £75 off the £405 cost, no brainer for me who just wanted a straight forward replacement. Mobile phones cost more than a TV, mad isn't it.

I use a Bose 900. No need for a sub woofer as Mrs doesn't like heavy bass.It does everything I want as we use it for music too. Buy from Bose and you 90 days to return. They do refurbs for about £600 so £300 off. If you don't like it send it back within the 90 days.

Absolutely makes a huge difference but you have to feed it with a good source (Dolby Atmos/5.1 surround) to get the full benefit.

I think the Samsung soundbars offer the best value for money to quality ratio with the discount codes and/or cashback deals often posted on HUKD.

That's crazy expensive to upgrade the sound. I paid around £700 for the TV about 5 years ago. Spending the same or more on a sound bar just seems madness to me.

I'm assuming the technology in a sound bar is fairly steady. Nothing in a new one that a 5 year old one can't do. I might get an older one to dip my feet in the water.

It also doubles as our main music source. The 600 is £380. Plenty of 2nd hand ones around to try one out. But the 90 day return is good. Sonos do a similar offer.

A lot of the improvements are related to gaming (ie 4k @ 120hz pass-thru and lower latency mode etc).

Another Q930F deal has just been posted for £434 on eBay.

Pretty easy these days to buy a very good telly for a decent price. LG are my go to. Got a 6 year old 60 inch that I paid about £600 for and a soundbar from the same company with Meridian tech that cost me about £250.
