It's a bit like MPs - the people who want to be an MP are probably the last people we want.

The people who want (and lobby for) honours are likely the most self-serving.

I would not want to be on the same list as this lot, another reason to refuse.

Also, if I was in a band I would not want to reach No.1, as it would mean being on the same list as one of that scum as well as Glitter and Watkins.

There should be a revoking system in place even when they are dead, but when Saville was found out the honour already expired when he died, so there was nothing left to strip. So on Wikipedia he's still listed as a Sir and OBE. The system should be revised, with one introduced for reaching No.1 so it's nonce free even in life or death.

Agreed but when you’ve got the likes of Paul Hollywood with a CBE, it just makes a mockery of it all.

Surprised it’s not Sir Howard Webb yet mind.

He has an MBE just for referring a World Cup Final and making a right hash of it!.
