Just started watching the London fireworks on YouTube, gave up when it mentioned bellend.

As a council we use to put on new year fireworks display, it would attract 1000's to the town.
Being a seaside town on the south coast the last 2 years had to be scrapped as the wind would blow the fireworks on shore.

This year we scrapped because the cost has increased by 300% and it was hard to justify spending that sort of money. We won't be doing fireworks for the seeable future
As it happened it would have been cancelled away due to the storm lol.

Pity the weather didn’t play fair last night. A lot of people's hard work organising events, and all for nowt. It was fairly benign here last night; mainly dry, and no wind to speak of. We had the storm on Monday night. It was bad; not as bad as Darragh was three weeks ago, though.

Shite last night, out with the neighbour trying to stop his house been flooded “again” good job I have some left over “materials” from work. United utilities will be getting an email now the drains can’t cope with the water and we live in a tiny dip in the road, drain fills up creates pool of water, doesn’t help dickeheads driving through and creating a fucking wave machine. Think we will be buying some traffic cones to slow the cunts down. Oh Happy new year!
