It seems all the American NYCFC fans are very disappointed with the kit, wanted to form their own identity and not be CIty 2.0

They're a bit naive if they ever thought it would be totally different. Colours and the City name are a huge part of things.

They hate it. They're ignorant. Here's a gem from the NYCFC forum:

I think a big point that we may be overlooking is the fact that CFG sees the US as the growth engine. There isnt a whole lot more they can do to grow the MCFC club. The real growth and new dollars will come from the US, they will not be doing anything to idiot the growth of NYCFC, its the future cash cow.

I advise just ignoring the goofballs. Plenty of us will snap these up gladly. :)

Great logic by the boys at the top..... If we want to watch a team with 'our' colours then we have to watch NYC instead of City.....you couldn't make it up

It kiiiiinda makes sense for us with Nike to switch for just this season to the black and blue, so that we are distinctive and the NYCFC kit get's maxium exposure rather than the two shirts being identical and hard to tell apart? I personally don't mind if it's just for the launch year.

they just gonna just piggyback on Manchester City success and history, like they have done rebranding Melbourne. As an away kit, maybe, but they should have their own unique kit (navy blue with field blue etc), something that keeps us apart.

I think you're being a bit naive, the whole point of these expansion teams is to increase our brand awareness worldwide. The City name and sky blue and white, IS our branding. To give them a yellow and pink striped kit would make them unique, but that kind of defeats the object doesn't it? We don't want them to be completely unique, we want them to be easily identifiable as being related Manchester City, that's the whole point.
