New York City FC Thread (new away kit P245)

I don't even know if Gerrard could meet that criteria. I'm well on my way to schnockered for a lovely cup.

But thank god we didnt sign his old ass.
Definitely agree with this, much better midfield options with Lampard & Pirlo. I can see Gerrard being a passenger when up against some of the athletic players over there.

I'm interested to see if he continues with his sly niggling fouls and elbows now he may not have the protection of media & referees.

Melbourne are fully aware of our place in the pecking order. Ie: the bottom haha. But hey we got a 15mil + training facility (Which in the Aus league is unheard of) so we cant complain.
Ha. There'll be a year when we're all champions of our own leagues. Could make for an interesting pre-season tournament.

Well there we go, just be careful you don't get barged over by one of the NYCFC egos, they think they run the place, despite existing for less time than yourselves.

I'm sorry we lumber you lot with Damien Duff and Robert Koren whilst giving the ungrateful bastards in the States Lampard and Pirlo etc.

Duff retired halfway through the season IIRC. Injuries.

Nothing wrong with Duffs time in Melbourne. He earned himself a lot of respect out there.

Koren on the other hand, not so good.

I think the point he was making is, none of those two are "flashy" names.

The answer to that question anyway is that it's harder to attract the larger names to the A-League. If you think the biggest names to have played out there is the likes of Del Piero, who was well past his best and that's the anomaly really. Though I do like the way the A-League seems to be growing organically, with largely Australian based squads.

Yesterday was an excellent result. I was honestly hoping for a point due to the fact we played arguable our worst CB and a makeshift 11 to boot.
Credit to Villa, since he's been 100% the guy has played lights out and you can see how much winning means to him in everything he does for us.
He wants more out of NYCFC and he shows his frustrations on the field quite a lot but it's how he is. The guys a winner and he expects the same mentality out of those around him.
He'll be greatly rewarded by the end of the month with the presence of Pirlo on top of Lampard and Iraola.

Poku has shown first team performances and I hope he is staying in our 11 going forward.
Having a diamond with him Pirlo mix and Lampard would be amazing. It's exactly what the club has been missing. Well.. That and a capable back line. Tefu, Facey, Iraola and Angelino/Calle. All guys that can work out of trouble and under pressure and push to ball to our mids. Who will be more than capable of feeding Villa/Mullins/Nemec/Shelton.
Will be an exciting second half of the season.
Winning 4 of 5 has put us right back in the race.

Has everyone calmed down over 'Lampard Gate' yet? It was a very touchy subject to say the least whenI got my red card, wonder what type of reception Frank will get from the majority of NYCFC fans, 7th July is the start of the transfer window?

Stiff upper lip spirit there, I'm sure CFG will sort it out! Was there any fallout over kit change, name change etc?

Sounds like you've been on the receiving end as well
