People watching this footage are in the same category as those who, at the site of an serious accident, start taking videos instead of helping or just moving on.No way I'd watch any footage of carnage
Makes me wish as an atheist that God genuinely existed, because these people deserve to go to hell (or get reborn as caterpillars for all eternity)

We’re moving vastly off topic and I have no interest in watching the video but you’ve said two things there that I thoroughly disagree with:People watching this footage are in the same category as those who, at the site of an serious accident, start taking videos instead of helping or just moving on.

1) There’s no way to conflate the two, someone not helping and just filming an accident is actually doing harm by their lack of help. Someone watching the video of the attack (for whatever reasons they rationalise in their own heads for watching) is not harming anyone, especially the victims.
2) Saying you wish there was a hell so that people that watched the video could go to it is ridiculous. Of all the things that people could do to make you say tried cliche, you choose watching a video.

I would still say though (to stay on topic) watching the video mmade by this Christchurch killer is a definite no-no, because this bastard wants other people to watch it, and see the suffering of those dying / injured.
Ideally all of us should chose to deny him that joy, and send him a collective f-u as he rots in jail.

So, interestingly enough, I actually remember when this change in perspective happened. This was a Cheney/ Bush directive in how this 'Islamic Terror' was being reported. It was driven up to frenzy level just prior to the first Iraq War giving them license to act. They were playing mental warfare with the public and it seeped over here.
The narrative became about the brown people with beards, who were relatively fighting their own battles on their own lands.
Of course, we know NOW that that was about oil, but it wasn't so well known back then.
When a people invade another land, occupy it and kill hundreds of thousands, it's gonna trigger related or sympathetic people set against that invasion.
And the reaction to that sets off a reaction to that reaction ect, ect, ect.
And then you get the 'lone wolf' people who just need a reason.
There has been a bizarre campaign on this thread, since the start, to prevent people from calling it what it is & inexplicably, to go on the defense of the extreme right wing & prevent them from being 'singled out' & to make sure we don't forget about extreme Islamic terrorism (as if we fucking would, when they blew up the fucking arena not long ago!).
It's bizarre & it's sinister & it's fucking horrible.
