Newcastle (a) post match thread

We will win the league this year.

I was thinking the same until recently. Ask me again at the end of Feb. We got some nasty fixtures coming up fast at Everton away and Chavs at our, plus the rags
in March. At least the rags have it in them to take three points of the Dippers soon. Man I'll be praying for Leicester tomorrow.

I thought we would be so up for it tonight that I’m virtually speechless as to how bad we were. There was no spark, no leadership. How can a team that has been so brilliant and fluid in movement turn in that bilge.

Looking back now I really think this title was lost last July. The failure to bring in quality in key positions has again reared its ugly head. When will the top brass ever learn.

You stand still and others will overtake you. It has happened EVERYTIME we have won the league. Instead of building on solid foundations we think we can go again and be just as successful.

Yes we were poor tonight, but the decisions to recruit 1 player who has done the sum of pretty much nowt in the summer has ultimately cost us.

Not been this down for a long long time. ABSOLUTELY FUCKING SHITE! How we managed to lose that game of football is a FUCKING mystery. Final ball was a disgrace tonight, and the first wasn't much better. Sergio 3 times in first half has chances to play a one in one and fucked it each time. How Sterling didn't get to that Sane cross only he knows. And why the fuck did Danilo play that ball to Ferdy. ? So many questions need answering, especially that disallowed goal, but that was such a spineless way to throw a title defence away. FUCKING GUTTED.

How the fuck a team that played like warriors against Liverpool can play like pussies tonight? I just don't understand, something didn't look allright n that pitch. Body language, lack of effort, it's so fucking strange.

They played like a small team mentality. They felt the pressure after conceding a goal!!! It's like they know 1-0 is not sufficient!!!
No one would have expected that we lose tonight.
We need 2 proper fullback wingers and a replacement for Fernan.. You could see that he was absent today, same results when he didn't play this season.
We've been poor, lost our identity football for some crosses... And by the way... The worst team to play corners in the league!!!

Liverpool's title at a canter now. Age and injuries have caught up with us. The players we hoped would take the place of our stellar performers of the last few years haven't proved good enough to dislodge them and age has caught up with those stellar players.

If we keep missing out on our first choice targets due to fees and wages I see a period of Spurs seasons before us, nearly men.

When we were 1 up after 24 seconds I thought it could be a bad night. Complacency creeped in. We thought we would roll them over. Aguero's linkup play was shite second half. Silva was poor. Ferny made a huge error. Danilo and Walker both making mistakes.

We had too many of their game tonight. Too much football recently? De Bruyne having to go off due to the ref making an error and booking him (2-0up and game over btw) and we fell apart.

Will see where we are after Chelsea at home before I throw the towel in but I think that is that. Get the league cup in the bag and get the team to FA Cup and CL glory. Prioritise it over the league. Get Foden and other young players involved in the league to build the squad for next season.

Liverpool might drop points but we will drop more than them with the number of games unless they completely fall off the cliff.

Deserved to lose. Worst performance this season, and we’ve had a couple poor ones. Just garbage from back to front. And it wasn’t due to lack of quality. It was due entirely to a lack of desire to take the game to them. The whole thing reeks of complacency, starting from the very top, who believed that we could coast through the season with what we’ve got.

Title is over barring a miracle. I guess it finally is their year.

Time to stop fooling ourselves neither Pep or the players care if we retain the title or not . That was a terrible performance, no leadership on or off the field. Need to be ruthless when you get a chance like tonight instead of pissing around like fancy dans and going fucking nowhere. Ederson should have stopped both goals. The first he was.badly oit of position, the penalty was so saveable. Much work to do.

Horrible to watch. My body language was the same as Pep's.

Nobody had an idea tonight and the complacency has cost us big time.

We were crap but fuck me the ref was fucking terrible...how the fuck do you officiate like that unless you are bent.
We didn't look interested for large parts of the game and I think the disallowed goal cost us big time..if that was allowed we go on to win comfortably.
The decisions that go against us are bent for sure...every tackle we look like we might get booked yet other teams kick us with impunity.
